**** Official Titan owners thread. ****

Wait.. If you're gonna spend 7990 kind of money why not just grab the Titan? Single card with similar performance, low power use bigger frame buffer.. I had two 7970's in Crossfire for a while both massively overclocked. The Titan feels just as fast as a in a league of it's own when it comes to smoothness, minimum fps are higher.. Games feel nicer...

I would seriously consider it, the 7990 is mahoosive, I think it's needs a support arm not to break the PCI-E slot.. Not to mention heat and noise...

You have a point. But the 7990 is still faster and its cheaper.

I dont have to worry about noise or heat or weight as it wikl be watercooled in a prodigy

Water is good for benching and noise. I will be going waterblocks soon. Just a chore fitting but once done, done job. Also I intend on keeping these beasts, so not a problem :)

1100 stable Moogley?

With the fan ramped right up it is. Far to noisy for me though. 1050 seems the perfect clock for me.

I am quite pleased with the noise. I have not set a fan profile but run +130 and +200 on the core and mem respectively and noise is not a bother. I just like the look of waterblocks and tubing. Plus it gives an edge when benching :)

I had the weigh up the pros and cons coming from dual 7970's and then a single GTX 670 4GB. One thing I noticed on the single 670 4GB was games although had less overall fps ran much smoother than on the dual 7970's. After reading lots of reviews and benchys l choose the Titan as minimum frames are much higher and the dual cards just aren't as smooth. Also if in a particular game crossfire isn't supported well your back down to single 7970 performance..

If your gonna watercool at least it'll reduce heat and noise, another thing to consider is the Titan may have more resale value later on over a dual card like the 7990..

I'm sure you will be happy with the 7990, I'm just saying it's lots of money lol so I would consider all your options ..

Will be trying to knock you off some benchy top spots later :p. I need a better clocking CPU !

Good luck and I am finished with benching till waterblocks or a decent driver. I have one score saved for Heaven but as me and Scotty are tied, I will save that just in case....

Heaven and Valley should be fine with 4.6Ghz on the CPU and firestrike is more GPU reliant than CPU.

Have fun anyways, because that is what we got them for :)

If one games up to 2560x1440 or such for the price aware you go single 7970, watercool it and oc it to 1200mhz and more.
It isnt that far behind a Titan there and for that price you have one titan you can buy 3 7970 here and find one that Oc great and sell the other two after.

if the price isnt a consideration one Titan is given but anything else the same microstuttering/framrate sync issues still will happen.
sli/crossfire have technical difficulties and sensitive people as myself turn down settings for fps gain if needed.

I just find buying a card that cost as much as a good car isnt my cup of tea.

Titan gives a considerably smoother and more consistent experience than a 690 GTX. The 7990 is meant to suffer horrendous stutter and frame skip issues. I would personally save a few more quid and get a Titan or the fastest single 7970 you can find.

It's miles behind the Titan, how many 7970's can reach 1200mhz no problems aswell..

If you have the money the Titan is epic, well worth it imho. No other dual setup comes close to it.. If I was considering 2 x 670's or 2 x 7970's or a 7990. I would take a long look at reviews, check the min fps, check out the weird latency issue thing that AMD has. Consider the extra ram, lower power consumption..

I can tell you from my own experience with all of these cards, that nothing comes close to the Titan, it is a monster.

Changing the subject for a sec,

Just got P15130 on 3D Mark 11 with single Titan..

An overclocked 1200Mhz 7970 is massively behind an overclocked 1200Mhz Titan. You can't just overclock one and then compare it fairly. That is just a poor attempt at making a 7970 look good value.

Don't get me wrong, the Titan is a very expensive card but it isn't a card for the people who compare it to a car that costs £900 and call it decent.

SLI has moved on and is very smooth compared to how it used to be. I ran SLI 680's which were smooth and I now run SLI Titans which are also smooth. No microstutter on either setup and I have very good vision/perception and slight discrepencies are picked up by myself. I can't speak the same for Crossfire, as I have never tried that.

Ahh! thats very cunning of you :p

Happy to share the lead with my Titan brothers :)

I found the 690 stuttered a bit. It's not much but compared to the smoothness of Titan it's very noticeable.

I had no end of stutter (nothing micro about it) with the 310.xx drivers but the 306.97 worked a treat and the 313.95 also worked a treat. I found Nvidia inspector is a fantastic program for SLI profiles as well.

I was using the latest WHQL drivers. Tbh I noticed it but it's not that bad and easily liveable with. But when your testing the cards playing the same bits over and over you notice how much smoother the single Titan is in comparison.

i was just about to order 4 of these for quadSLI goodness but was met with this on the OcUk website..

ive now decided to keep my 5870!

Made a new bios, this one is very nice (;

Stock clocks,

(No software needed for these clocks)

Core: 1006 turbo > 1033
Memory: 1667Mhz = 320.1GB/s
Fan: unlocked to 100%
Voltage: Unlocked to 1.212v or 1.225v (If extra added in EVGA Precision X etc..)
Power limit: 114%

Get it here - hxxp://www.speedyshare.com/d4wv9/Nvidia-Titan-OC-Bios-1033-1667-1.212v.rar (change xx to tt)

Use at own risk, don't blame me for borked cards..

Scores 3034 in Unigine Valley with stock setting above ^^, no software used..

The 690 has better Max Fps but tbh on a 60Hz screen a lot is wasted.
Not if you use downsampling which is used if your card has that extra power just waiting to be used

Downsampling maxes my card out with everything turned on full.
You should try it, I think you may be pleased with the results:)
