*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

I think it looks great.

Plastic is better than glass. Rounded is better than square. Hard home button is better than no home button.

The vast majority of people would appear to agree, which may explain why the Galaxy line is so popular!

No keen on the silver edge and front speakers on that render (though front speakers would be better, I just think they look ugly there)

I agree, generally plastic is always better than glass, however, it depends on the finish of the plastic.

Also agree that rounded is better than square, however, you can have too rounded corners i.e. GS 3 and have less rounder corners that looks much better (IMO) i.e. HTC one, note II, one s/x

They can still keep the "home" button, just to do without making it "hard/physical" i.e. make it capacitive like the menu/return buttons. Phone would look a lot cleaner then.

I don't think many people really care about the design too much, at least not being a main deciding factor anyway and I don't think many/any would agree to it being a "good" design, especially when pretty much every news site etc. doesn't like the design of the GS 3 and being plastic (when compared to aluminium)

EDIT:

God that ad is incredibly cringe worthy, enough to put me of Samsung entirely :p :o Worse than apple's ads "if you don't have an iphone, well you don't have an iphone" etc.

I was half expecting the kid to open the box and find a big black veiny *****. And then troll face from Samsung.

Plastic doesn't have to look cheap.

Lumia 800

Htc one x

Htc butterfly

Htc 8x

And I'm sure there are more.

Man if that leak is really real I am very disappoint!

The only good thing is that I can sell it (upgrade) for more than my S3 lte which I can happily keep.

Samsung should be ashamed if that all they can drum up for the S4. But I still don't believe that is the design. The S3 was under such strict lock and key to prevent leaks like this it would be safe to assume it's the same with the S4.

If this leak proves to be legit then a lot of people will be disappointed but as I've stated before, that is a big if. Samsung are not going to let a leak like this happen, no chance, no way. Should the leak end up being the actual S4, if I were you kona I would keep the S3 LTE as there's nothing to justify you getting rid of an awesome phone just for a spec bump and other minor features.

Android police seem to think something is amiss, I'm kind of 50/50... the one thing confusing me is why the texture on the leaked phone match the S4 advertisement posters background texture exactly.

However the apparent case specification doesn't match the leaked photos. So something is wrong somewhere!

I guess we will just have to wait and see...

+1 I'm inclined to agree with Android Police, something doesn't quite add up. Samsung must be laughing though as it all adds up to the hype prior to the launch.

Very Apple-esc....

It does look pretty legit to me as well, further reinforced by the matching pattern.

But as said, you want your product to generate excitement and get people interested etc. then hype the **** out of it! :D :p Wouldn't be surprised if it was Samsung behind these supposed leaks.......

That looks the most realistic to me, a mix between the S3 and Note 2. Not the best looking phone but not too bad either, just very average. I don't think Samsung feel they need to change very much at all in terms of design or materials due to the popularity of the S3.

Similar shape/design - nothing too risky, boosted specs, bigger screen, removable battery and memory card slot, job done.

Yup touching upon what you said there.

They need to keep a similar design language if people are to recognise the "galaxy" phones just like apple with their iphones.

It looks like after selling Sqillions of S3s Samsung have stuck to the old philosophy....

"If it aint broke, don't fix it"

* I showed my wife the leaked photos and had to point out the differences to my S3 LTE.....

That's exactly what I was thinking..."accidental leak" yeah right! :D

I wouldn't put it past Samsung they've become extremely adept at marketing their phones.

Wasn't there someone on these forums who supposedly has a contact in Samsung that said something like "don't believe any thing that you are seeing as they are leaking all this stuff, which is fake in order to generate hype". Was it intratech?

Either way, I wouldn't be shocked if it was :p Funny as soon as the HTC one was released and all the news sites reported their hands on etc., then out of nowhere a supposed photo of the GS 4 pops up along with some info. on the screen etc. :p

Yeah only a few days now. But in all honestly I don't see it being much different, Samsung have gone with the same design philosophy for a couple of years now. The leaks do look like a smaller note2 which is what they're aiming for I guess. It's such a shame because they really do make good innards ,also the apps and features are well received.

That plastic look though, it's atrocious. Just look at the back of it!
Unless something very different and more premium looking is shown end of the week (doubtful) then I reckon the One has shot to the top of the wanted list.
