When did you leave home?

Me and girlfriend moved in with her grandad at age 23 (just under 3 years ago) to look after him, have the house to ourselves now that he's in a nursing home and we get the house when he dies.
If that didn't happen we'd both still be living at home :(

Got my own place at 20. Moved back in with parents to help both parties financially last year (they both got made redundant from the same company at the same time) moving out again this weekend.

Went to uni in Leeds when I was 18. Stayed in Leeds and now 27

I've lived at home briefly for 3 months inbetween moving houses a few years back

Moved out last year when I brought my own house at 27. Always lived at home with my mum before then, having the easy life as me and my mum got on well.

At 23 I told my mum I don't want to be 30 years old and still living at home. So I saved hard for about 5 years on my own, while still paying my mum money towards bills each month. Every time I got a higher paid job I gave my mum more toward bills even though she wasn't expect it and put 60% of my wages toward saving for a deposit while I still could buy nice things for myself and party with friends.

Now having my own places it's great!!! Big TV on the wall, with latest game consoles. A dedicated room for my classic retro consoles to play on, another room where I fix and build PC's. I love it but if my mum asked me move back home for whatever reason, I would happily sell my house and move back.

my parent split up since I was born. I grew up with my grand parents in Hong Kong. When I reached 12 years old I starting my boarding school in Paris for 1 year. Then I moved to London Blackheath at another boarding school until I finished A levels.

Then Uni and lived in hall of residents, then met my gf and now wife. We rented a place together when we were 20 and now with 2 kids :)

At boarding school I used to go back home for a couple of months for summer holiday, usually can't wait for school to start again.

almost 20, wont see myself moving out until the point where I have enough saved for a deposit for a house/flat.

Renting imo is dead money so I wont do it.

29 4/5.

Only left home because i nearly killed myself and got some compensation so i bought a house with it all as it was the only time i'd ever live to get this type of money..... so house deposit and renovating a repossessed house.

Moved out when I was nearly 17. Got a job & car by then & moved into a flat with friends until I got my own place a couple of years later.

started living at the gf's parents house at 18...got a mortgage at 19, nearly 26 now :)

Best decision of my life, and was very lucky to get the house when we did as we wouldnt have a prayer now, even though we are on more money

Bought a home (with shared equity) when I was 23-24.

Left for a short period when I was 15-16 but went back after a couple months because stuff happened.
