When did you leave home?

"Left home" and went to Uni at 20 then went back for a few months when I graduated at 24 and moved out when I got a full time job - about 16 years ago

Still living at home aged 26. On minimum wage I can't see myself ever being able to afford to move out while things are tough like this. I don't have many skills or a degree, but hopefully I'll find something that pays a bit (at least double) more at some point that will facilitate a move away from my mothers home. I'd really like to know what it feels like to be truly independent, financial independence would see me content with my life after years of self doubt.

She's happy for me to stay though, I'm no trouble and help out. I'm not alone in this situation, only people I know with their own places have children so get help.

Moved out to uni at 18, now back at home doing a masters.

If all goes to plan I'll be truly moving out around Sept/Oct this year.

Go to university? Slog away at A-Levels, you're over 25 so you can get in on mature entry. Would be the best way to kickstart yourself. :)

I'm 24 next month and am still living at home and will be until I'm 25.

Finished uni at 21, came home went to law school, been working for 18 months and I'm back to law school this September before I finally start my training which will see me be on a high enough salary to move out and still live in the London suburbs.

I'm actually doing an engineering degree with the open uni at the moment, nearer the start than the end though. Also got a BAE apprenticeship application pending as well so it's not like im doing nothing about it.

18, when I left for university. I still return home in holidays during the first year but after that returned back to the then g/f's place.

Returned back home for 3 months aged 29 after getting divorced but that's it. My parents have been fantastic.

while i was living with my dad he moved out of the house to be with his new gf and left us in the house to run it.. i was 18 but i guess that could be classed as moving out even if it wasnt me doing the moving, i was left to look after the house and pay for it..

at 20 i moved in with my gf and at 25 we bought a house together that we both paid for untill the building industry fell apart because of government and banks. now i pay for literally everything which is scary, its only really now i feel very independent from family haven not talked to my parents for months and had no help from them for a long while now..
