US: 2013 New tv shows

Just reading this thread, I could have guessed that "Do No Harm" would get canned :p

It's a shame some of these shows get horrific ratings, makes trying to get into something so much more annoying, I was quite into Awake, bang cancelled, into Alphas, cancelled, etc.

I'd forgotten about Do No Harm and hadn't realized it had been cancelled. It seemed OK when compared to that tripe Beauty & the Beast show with Kristen Kreuk, i wasn't really sure where they were going with it though.

I've tried to watch the double episode opener for Red Widow twice now, got bored and wandered off each time.

Watched a couple of episodes of Motive.

Another generic cop show, this time the "thing" is that they tell the viewer who the killer is at the start, and then you get to watch the detectives make errors until they find the right suspect.

One thing to note, a few knowable actors appear, Colonel Everett from Stargate Universe and Lauren Holly from NCIS.

It will probably survive only because it is Canadian, and they don't cancel as quickly as US.

I see Bones from the new Star Trek movies has been cast in the new Robot Cop show Wyman and Abrams are making. Starting to look forward to this one and hope it's as good as Fringe.

After very lengthy negotiations, Karl Urban has closed a deal to star opposite Michael Ealy in Fox‘s untitled J.H. Wyman/J.J. Abrams drama pilot (formerly Inhuman). The project reunites Urban, who plays Bones in the Star Trek movie franchise, with the franchise’s helmer Abrams. The action-packed buddy cop show, from Warner Bros TV and Bad Robot, is set in the near future when all Lapd officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids. It centers on one such pairing, cop John Kennex (Urban) and his android partner Dorian (Ealy). Kennex is described as a respected police officer who has shut down emotionally after a tragic mission left him critically injured. The cast of the pilot also includes Lili Taylor and Minka Kelly. This marks the first series regular role for Urban, who recently played the title character in another futuristic cop project, feature Dredd 3D.

Interesting, had to check who Wyman was, saw he did Keen Eddie, something I think essentially no one in the known universe apart from me has seen, it was actually pretty decent. Funny + sienna miller, who is hot anyway but at her hottest/youngest.

Abrams though, you never can tell, some stuff he makes is great, some abysmal, and a few too many start off okay or with a good idea but go downhill quickly.

Bit of a bland cast as yet, maybe that will suit the show, who knows. Infact looking deeper into the cast it looks pretty awful in terms of quality. Listed on IMDB as a tv movie as well, movie/pilot + series to follow or a one off?

Compared to the Fringe cast, its got failure writen all over it but I'd be pleased to be proved wrong and see a good new sci-fi show, Defiance is completely woeful.

Oh, only just realised main guy in Keen Eddie was Dunham's boyfriend/agent/traitor guy who died at the beginning of the series.
