If I put my cynical hat on, it says to me that they don't race when it's chucking it down, cos they can't see the advertising on the cars, and the sponsors start whinging.
They had entirely flat floors up to the diffuser at the back, which was a a bit worse than having a step with the plank. But, they used to be able to adjust the ride height significantly. Parc Ferme rules have meant that they can't adjust the ride height.
As soon as weather like this happens the 'change of climatic conditions' rule should allow them to change more than just the brake and radiator blanking. Allow them to change the front and rear wings, ride height *although that's not particularly easy*, damper settings.... If the weather returns to sunny for race day, allow the teams to change back to the pre-climatic change dry settings they had.
But I want to see the cars on the limit of control on the track, in whatever weather there is.
