Forgot how bad job searching was :(

Not sacked yet but expecting the worst as they have put forward four reasons for dismissal.
Gross misconduct
Misuse of company equipment
Misuse of social media
And something about causing the company a financial loss.

Facebook sucks...

if she was on facebook in work time on work equipment then its her own fault. i know its harsh but you go to work to work, not prat about on facebook.

now if it was something she posted outside of company time and not on company equipment then its a different matter.

She was telling me all about it in the pub but I couldn't hear that well as my brother was playing in the band in front of me and the place was rammed to the rafters with drunk Irish people from the horse racing.

All I wanted to do was listen to my bro play. :( :o

Yip, there are privacy options there got a reason.

In general I post nothing even related to work on my Facebook (not that I use it much anyway) ever, not worth it. A load of people in my last company got sacked for messing about at work, taking pictures of it and posting this on Facebook. Fools.

dont make it public, the amount of idiots on facebook who have their account set to public and then wonder why they get in trouble is just silly.

My bad... Wasn't public public, just friends...
However it appears one of her "friends" knew the person she mentioned (not mentioned by name by the way) and instead of "having a word" she went straight to the person in question, who has obviously now complained to her employer.!!

(I consider even posting stuff to friends as public in my mind.. Once it's out there, it's out there..)

well i cant see her getting fired if she didnt name this person and it was only a private post between friends. if they do fire her for the post id get down the cib and ask how legal it is.

also you may want to tell your gf to stop friending everyone she knows, especially in work as generally that only ends up with someone upset.

once again il post on here as I have jobs vacant

two mechanical (plant) engineers required in birmingham

one depot supervisor required for a plant hire company in birmingham, bit of a hands on role as its a new depot for us :)

As mentioned a post ago, I have an interview this Friday.

I want to do everything within my power to get this job! But my interview experience is lacking. I held my first job through college & uni, and got my second (& current) job after one interview.

The interview is 45 minutes long and will include competency based questions.

Obviously I'll be researching the company and site that the job is based at.
I'll make sure I have my selling points nailed down in my head and how I'm suited for the role.

Perhaps a well thought out question that shows interest, but not a question just for the sake of it.

Is there much else to it?

Just been offered another interview for a great job.

I'm wondering, why did I put off job searching for so long?

(answer, lack of motivation, and a small fear of rejection mainly)

Just got made redundant this morning. Looks like I'm back in this thread again :( Hopefully I'll be able to move to one of the other offices in the business, but I'll be looking for a job regardless.

This wait is killing me. Had my interview Friday afternoon with a fairly big company (one of the largest in Europe), and I'm wondering what the average wait is to hear back? I've got another interview on Wednesday but the one I'm waiting for may well swing my decision if I'm offered anything.

I may phone tomorrow and explain the situation.

Sorry to hear that Devrij :(

I'm not out of work, but I'm almost certainly going to be looking again....I want a career for once, not these random jobs I keep doing :( No idea where to start though.

I'm kind of in the same boat delvis. Just got my notice on monday afternoon that this will be the last week for me and a colleague and they won't be renewing my contract (originally on a 4 month contract) because they haven't got enough work to go around/waiting for new work etc. :(

A last in, first out sort of thing but I'm still pretty bummed as it was fairly steady work, not very challenging role though so a bit boring but it was better than no work so I took it. :o

So I'll be back on the job hunt, hate everything about it tbh! :o

Currently working 2 jobs, 1 in a sports centre and 1 in Sainsburys till I find something better and more long-term. Got interview with Ladbrokes and a telephone interview with William Hill next week, hopefully get one of those.
