The destruction, whoring and milking of AAA titles at their peak. I honestly wouldn't give 2 ***** if they made the game and called it something else but to use the good names of BF2 and D2 in order to sell the pieces of **** that BF3 and D3 turned out to be, is unforgivable.
 
bf2142 was the best :) bf2 people could simply dolphin dive through bullets and stab each other. 2142 for me was very nicely balanced.

i would prefer the best of bc2 and bf be combined rather than seperate game.

on a side bf3 should never have lost the destructive damage from the beta.

I loved BF3 and first played Codename Eagle at a LAN party circa 2000. After that I grew up playing BF1942 and desert combat. I played both BF2142 and BF2 and would love to see the return of the Titan mode from 2142.

I have a PC and a console but play BF3 on the Xbox as my PC isn't up to much these days. I spent years playing CS competitively as well. We were never any good but took it more seriously than the pub players.

So the idea you must have to only ever played COD to like BF3 is ridiculous. BF3 sold over 20 million copies and 3 million premium subscriptions and not every one of them is a disgruntled BF2 vet who refuses to buy BF4 because they were disappointed.

I hate how childish some members of the PC gaming community appear, that self entitled, toys out of pram reaction because they won't make the game you want is hilarious. It's just so selfish and narrow minded to think that your opinion is right and the game should be made the way BF2 was just because that's what you want. There are millions out there who aren't bothered by the lack of commander mode, aren't bothered by the regenerating health etc.. That you're too bigoted to acknowledge exist.

The idea that BF2 is better than BF3 is purely a subjective one and you're going to have to face that not everybody shares your taste / opinion.

It will still be *****, its CoD after all. It will be the same boring game play with the stupid perks and outdated graphics while still having no emphasis on actual skill. Oh, i almost forgot about the 10 year old kid's screaming down the mic :D.

i'd give bf3 a 8/10 decent game but not a masterpiece.

has a newer graphics engine than bf lol . is only on brand new consoles and pc.

does this not make you intrigued ?

actual skill lol bf3 is for console players. why you think bf3 isnt even a competitive game :rolleyes:

bf4 will actually be worse than bf3 because they trying to copy cods older money plan but what they dont seem to have grasped is the newer cod is the next movement. so bf loses again.

they should stop trying to emulate cod to get the cash and just make a honest bf game instead.

not being funny neil but you script in most of your games so your point is mute.

arma 3 is dog****.

basically they have tried to cash in a little by adding a few consoley type features.

the movement is worse, aiming worse, helicopters 200 percent worse.

only better thing is graphics. its early so hopefully they change a lot of it.

if your running DICE as a business, and looking on purely as an EA share holder, then BF3 was a phenomenal success. Its sold 3 x the number of copies that Bad Company 2 did, made a ton of money from Battlefield Premium, and nearly 10 x as many copies as BF2 did. Its all very well saying that EA are going to be worse off following activisions model, but for as long as it continues to make more money than the previous one, your point is invalid.

And as for BF3 not being competitive, well no **** sherlock. Battlefield was never going to be a competitive game, no battle recorder, no spectator mode, no game recording, it was never going to take off competitively. And this doesn't bother me, I'd rather battlefield didn't go chasing the MLG pro gaming crowd and instead just made a decent game balanced for public play. Because the pro gaming crowd represent a tiny tiny minority of the players who bought BF3.

Because if you do focus on them. You end up like David Vondehaar at treyarch going on and on about and focusing your attention on a game mode nobody plays : league play.

apologies if that came across as a bit of a rant. But i actually like the way BF3 plays. I'd agree that 6 player squads would be nice, but its not a game breaker. Other stuff that people go on about I genuinely prefer this way. People go on about BF3 being easy mode, but it was BF2 that enabled you to automatically repair friendly vehicles just by being an engineer, then driving your tank somewhere in the vicinity of your team mates vehicle. You didn't even have to get out and use the repair tool ! Some aspects of BF3 like the whole vehicle thing have got harder, while others got easier which balanced it out.

If you don't like 3D spotting ,and don't want regenerating health on players / vehicles then go play hardcore. Battlefield caters for that if you want it.

i understand ea and why they did it from a money making business point of view they did make a ton load of cash.


from a gamers point of view they just cashed in on making a console fps.


i said what bf3 would be like from the off . i get a lot of stick and dont really care about that. i just hope that while they making a shed load of money they dont just server up a console game to pc players.

just cause there's not much else to choose from it doesn't mean you have to like it just cause its a big release.

i mentioned the comp scene is because it adds longevity to a fps game and if it cant be played competitively what does this also tell you about the game ? ;)

bf series is now a console game just like cod. lets not kid ourselves . yes some pc players love bf. some love cod. the difference is cod is the king at this!

if bf is trying to follow them then what are loyal bf players gunna do ? you jump down cod yet the very game you seem to be loving is itself turning into want you rant about it not being :p

so what your left with is a step child of a fps that looks pretty decent.

this is also why i bring up cods new engine. if its like what its supposed to be like then not only will the fps king work and play better and have better coding it may even look better than bf :eek:

so then bf becomes the ugly cousin of fps that no one really wants to play :)

before you dive in with silly responses just think. what will change in bf4 this year? will it really add anything great?

atleast cod has a shot bf4 is just a extra dlc of bf3.
 
It's not a console game.

It is however designed to maximise revenue by appealing to all corners of gaming and trying to cater to everybody's taste.

Look at the map packs. Close quarters for those that liked the small scale TDM games , Armored kill for those that like the larger vehicle biased maps, aftermath that was inbetween the two, air superiority for the jet whores, tank superiority for the tank whores. Conquest Domination for those that like small scale infantry fast paced maps.

Then it has hardcore mode, with no 3D spotting, no regenerating health for those that prefer it more like BF2.

BF3s problem was that it tried to be all things to all men. It was the jack of all trades, but the master of none.

I still find it thoroughly enjoying however, jack of all trades or not.

The decision to make the AC130 on rails tells you everything. They had to make all aspects of the game accessible, even to the lone wolf who can't fly for toffee and probably has a 0.5 KD, so that even he gets to shoot the crap out of stuff with the AC130 cannons

it is a console game !

you just think it happens to be a ps3 exclusive for no reason with bf3 for eg .

it is catered mainly for consoles. all rest is marketing to get pc players on board. which EA do do well.
