charge pad fail

http://blog.gsmarena.com/samsung-wireless-charging-pad-review/

slow and makes the phone thicker. What a waste of cash.

i thought wireless charging was slower in general ? :) but i guess its better to have a phone where you can choose to have wireless charging or not and by not having it you have a thinner phone?

it sounds bad at first when you think "omg slow and thick" but then it comes to point where it actually makes sense, kinda like the "bigger battery" does for s2/s3?

Have Google/Android sorted out the hi-res pictures issue*? I have had nothing but problems with my XS trying to sync with the phone contacts stored on my Google account. Before my S4 arrives I want to make sure all the stored contacts have decent pictures and then it actually work when I sync with the S4.

*I know they now support it but still didn't work on my XS. Do I simply upload a hi-res picture in Gmail?

16GB S4 £589.95  ouch!!!

Was hoping/expecting the S4 to be priced around the same as what the S3 was priced when it came out...

Looks like Samsung are now going price there lastest Galaxy S4 around the same priced as an Iphone...:(

slower in general yes but paying over £50 to take twice as long? lol

And you have it place it on the pad just right - so may aswell just plug it in.

Bigger battery makes sense - this to me makes a whole lot of 'nonsense'.

Do you want one grudas? - If so I have a square wheel I can sell you too :p

Yup wireless charging is still pretty useless/gimmicky imo.

- slow
- can't use device freely when charging i.e. with cable connected, you can move it around easily and still use it whilst in your hand
- expensive

I want to see true "wireless" charging! :p

TBH i have the wireless charger for my nokia 920 and its quite fast , if you cant leave your phone alone to charge for an hour or so you need help lol :p

Just don't get the point it's not really wireless is it, you have to put it on the charger. Not really any difference to plugging it in or putting it in a dock.

Until it's really wireless, ie you can walk round the house and it charges, then there's not much point imo!

have to agree with this... you pay 50 quid just for the convenience of laying it on a charging surface (which is plugged in to a socket anyway), as opposed to sticking a cable in. You know what they say, a fool and their money...

no why would i want one?! :) i have better things to waste my money on, plus i see no problem in plugin my phone in charger while im sleeping.. :o

I really like the wireless charger/dock for my touchpad, and use it daily.
However, it does also act as a nice stand, and due to the design of the stand it is very hard to not get it in the right place to allow charging. Not plugging in is a sensible development for charging. It is always going to take longer than cabled charging, but its not for everyone, clearly!

I've just signed up with chitter chatter for £31 a month.
Phoned o2 who I have been with for 7 years and they couldn't come anywhere near the price so I politely asked for my pac code :-)
They say I will get it on 27th which I can live with

good to know - think I'll do this with the wife's phone. O2 want £399 for the S4 on her £22 a month tariff, where as chitterchatter will do £26 a month and £99.

Just rang Chitter Chatter to confirm they have received my order and it had been processed as I hadn't received the correct emails. They said they are shipping on the 26th. Would it arrive on the 27th or Monday 29th? They said they use next day delivery but I was under the impression this excluded Saturday, which is extra.

I ordered mine on Chitterchatter a week or so ago. Can't wait to get it. Been looking about for cases but cant find anything yet! Is it worth getting it through quidco I used them before for getting sky and never got the money I shpulf of back. How do they pay for it?
