Lamborghini Miura SV burns to the ground

The original miuras had a problem with engine fires iirc, something to do with the carbs.

Yep, there was small fuel reservoir on the carbs that would fill up when the car was idling and leak fuel onto the block. One of the downsides of using racing carbs on a road car. Its such a shame to see such a rare car destroyed like that. Hopefully it will be resorted back to its original condition.

Yes, that would have been sensible.

On a slightly related note, a garage mechanic wrote off a 300sl a couple of weeks ago in Germany. I bet the owner or the garages insurer weren't too happy.
