Everyday Sexism

@EverydaySexism worked for a major auction house. Told by head of department I couldn't do phone bidding because "girls can't manage it"

@EverydaySexism same auction house head of department suspiciously prone to "accidentally" touching my chest.

you love it you ****

Holy crap this is mostly laughable, some quite concerning stuff in there.
But it's clear all too many people can't see the difference between sexual assault and sexism. Also a few things in there make me think, get over yourselves.

It's also odd how it's banded together by women.

Very few of the situations are even sexist, and if you look at the pages of some of the people who are attributing sexism to a situation just because they were offended, you can see some of them posting tweets that contradict the things they were complaining about.

One girl:

"Looking good" how to complement a woman without being a pervd

She then goes on about how she wants to fly somewhere where she can be surrounded by "posh sexy men"

And then how she's drooling over some guy.

The hypocrisy is just awful.

There are a couple of odd examples, such as a boss who accidently touches the girls chest way too often. But by and large, what woman complain about is you hitting on them when they think you're ugly.

Or the other example where the boy failed to complement th girls personality. You ever see guys playing the "what do you like about me" and being bothered if they're told it's because they're sexy?

Double standard, sexism obviously does exist towards both men and woman but theres also just a lot of crazy angry folks too.

I've just been harassed by builders working in my shared back yard. Literally not even safe stepping out of my own door.

Considering the picture on her twitter account, I doubt it .

"@EverydaySexism has given me the confidence to stand up for myself when confronted with unwanted remarks/advances. Thank you! :)"

Ah, so it's only sexism when women internalize whether they feel like they want it to be or not today.

In a good mood and get whistled at by attractive fellow, oh my why thank you kind gentleman /blushes. In an average mood and get whistled at by average fellow, how dare you sexually assault me you chauvinistic pig!

How do they have time to be posting on the internet? They should get on with their cleaning / ironing duties or their husbands will be mad when they get back from the pub

I, for one, hate how husbands/fathers are always depicted as blithering idiots in adverts, with the wife/mother being some smart-arse.

I get that the target demographic for these ads are women, but you don't see masculists crying about it. :p

Made me choke on my donut you pleb!:D

Sounds like if you make any comment about a woman (good or bad) and they dont like it or you = Sexism,

but there is some rather shocking stuff on there if true.

One example of the lovely hypocrisy on display, one user posted this:

Was I really told today that my body is good but my face 'needs work' SERIOUSLY?! @EverydaySexism

I decided to have a look at her twitter feed to see what else she had to say...

I wish I could just jet of to where ever, when ever and be surrounded by sexy posh men,

This is my evening, drooling over @SpencerGeorgeM and ice on my foot #partylifestyle pic.twitter.com/x0nDeNcGIy

I wish I had a proper guy friend to give me advice, none of this feminine man stuff.

Oh bless this guy, he's so cute but so bad

"@oliverproudlock: @SpencerGeorgeM I think I've had my meal ;) @MensHealthUK @UPFitness pic.twitter.com/A3NOMJPVpW" invite to the pants party!

Oh hellllllloooo half naked @oliverproudlock

Is Rob Lowe still hot? Has he aged well? It's really important to me that he has aged well.

I'm always so disappointed when Patrick Swayze puts his shirt on in a movie :(

When I go on holiday there are never sexy waiters like @JakeCanuso, I feel cheated.

Hmmm, sexisim you say...

and that was just a few that I found before I got bored scrolling through a load of boring typical tweets

There is an ad on TV where this young guy comes out the sea and 3 old women are perving at him as he tries to get changed under a towel, then a small dog pulls his towel off and one of the women takes a photo of him naked as he covers his balls. We also see his butt.

If the genders were reversed, women would be up in arms! Up in arms I tell you!

50 Shades of Grey, a book where the main character is a young, innocent girl who is used/abused as a sex object by a rich, powerful, attractive man. As far as I'm aware, a substantial amount of women seemed to enjoy that fantasy. So I guess being treated as a sex object is fine if the guy is rich and hunky enough.

Most feminists are hypocrites, more news at 10...

Her issue was the comment that she could be someone's wife, and that this somehow changed her status just because she nominally belonged to a man. Nothing to do with her bum.

You see the problem here? We don't always understand what their problem is because we don't think that way.

Or that the friend knew that making a comment to a married woman may result in a beating.

One that stood out at me was a girl said her manager at a convenience store told her she was hired because she had big boobs..

Check her facebook and a good number of her pics are of her with her big boobs showing.

...
The second problem is a lot of the way we treat women and the roles we expect them to fill is historical, they have moved on in not wanting to accept this but we haven't quite caught up yet (plus the old roles suited us better :o)

Can't agree with that as some woman want equality on their terms, which isn't equality. Its the same with positive discrimination, it can't exist as to positively discriminate is to discriminate against another group. Many 'feminists' are out and out man haters. They tend to be the female equivalent to the type of bloke they think they are standing up to, and are quite simply sexist.

As in everything there are exclusions to the rule.
