Great movie, really enjoyed it, ok maybe it's a little long but I mainly thought that because I was tired and it was late in the cinema on a work night but I was more than happy all the way through.

Some great acting in this, felt very real and emotional, Roll on Gosling's 'Only God Forgives' and this will add to a nice collection with Drive imo.

Loved it. A long, 2.5 hour film across multiple timelines based on the decisions of the main boy. Beautifully surreal and mad, at times confusing, but only serves to draw you in further.

The Manchurian Candidate (original) - pretty strong stuff for the early sixties, as with most films of this age it took a while to get going but the tension builds very well. The premise is that a unit in the Korean War gets captured and then one guy manages to get the whole unit out while singlehandedly fighting off a whole battallion. They get back to the US and he is awarded the medal of honor, but did it happen that way? Frank Sinatra thinks otherwise... 4/5

Special mention to Angela Lansbury as the guy's truly horrible mother.

Personal choice, unwatchable if you never had the good fortune to having grown up watching 70's/80's scfi'esk shows

Solid disney flick if you're into the sort of stuff, maybe one for the kids.

Well I like my sci-fi and really enjoyed it. Anything with Tom Cruise in isn't going to have good acting! I liked the plot and the visuals.

Oblivion is great! If we were talking about Poometheus I'd agree. *That* movie is trash in every single department (except the 3D which was pretty good).

Technically it was Thursday night but this is the first I've been back since:

Went to see Blackfish at the Sundance Film Festival. Its a feature documentary about Tilikum, a captive orca at Seaworld Florida, who has been implicated in the deaths/injury of three trainers. It raises some serious questions about the morality of captivity without being preachy. I found it also raised some serious questions about the treatment of the trainers by Seaworld themselves. Certainly had me wondering what will happen to the share price of Seaworld when this goes to general release (apparently the film was cited by Seaworld as a market risk).

Red - 4/10

Thought it would be at least decent considering the cast (especially with Morgan Freeman) but it was a load of silly nonsense really, and some truly awful CGI/special effects. The bit with Willis 'stepping' out of the police car as it was in a spin was hilariously bad.

Saw a trailer in the YouTube thread for Red 2. God knows why they're bothering.

I mean if you don't see what makes a bad movie then thats fine. But I aint no cow in that field
