*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

Hi all just received mine today, ordered yesterday from amazon black Sim free and received today at 7am ,

first thing screen protector, hate doing this, if i get even 1 dust stuck in, i have to take and try another !

Wasn't it advised not to use a screen protector as it mess' with some of the sensors?

I'm finding the battery life very good, on a quiet day, with just a few texts, messing about with a simple game for 5 minutes and a youtube video or two, I will be looking at around 75% remaining after 16h or so. My old S2 would have plummeted to 50% or so with similar light use.

Even heavy use wandering round the office showing people the screen and video quality etc. and giving it some stick, I still haven't got to a point where it was 'low'.

Cheers,

Interesting they are sending out German ones. My post and been and gone this morning and surprise surprise...no phone! And it STILL hasn't tracked on the Royal Mail website. Giving them till 1pm before I write a strongly worded e-mail. Might just cancel out of principle now. Again, wouldn't have a problem if they were honest and said that it would be Tuesday. Its the fact I have gone out of my way to be in today and they have quite clearly lied to me about dispatch arrangements.

I take it the German phone is the same as the UK ones apart from some of the apps that have been installed etc? The phone itself working ok, no pink tints on the screen or anything?

It seems to work perfectly fine and I can't detect any display issues at all.

The only thing that is annoying me is that despite having Apex Launcher installed and working, I occasionally and quite randomly end up in TouchWiz after unlocking. Not sure why that's happening.

A few from Hyde Park :)

Good stuff there dude, tbh it gets harder every day waiting for Google to announce the motogooneX5

reboot the phone and see how it goes - TW launcher should be dead then

How you finding the battery life compared to the one and GS 3 so far kona? (don't you have the extended batt. for the GS 3?)

good to hear about the charging time, another irritating thing about the one! Personally would have preferred for HTC to enable the qualcomm quick charge feature as the one takes way too long to charge from 10% to 100% :o

So some smartphones are smarter than other smartphones - what are we doing with these ones (iPhone 5)

:D :D :D

the screen protectors have cut outs, applying screen protector gives me peace of mind, so dont get any scratch on screen, and its good when to sell on, when had screen protector from day one,

took me 3 goes to get it perfect not a bubble or dust insight, i have 10 screen protectors so could retry a few times till perfect

can't really tell so far but from what I've seen - 4hrs screen on time for both S4 and One is about right. Yes they have big batterys but the juicier screens and soc cancel them out. My s3 has stock 2100mah batt. But its on a good custom rom and kernel.

I love a quick charge!

Afternoon chaps,

Anyone got a good idea of how I can copy all my contacts over from my iphone to my GS4?

If there's a means of not doing it manually then that'd be awesome. Otherwise it's going to be a long afternoon.

Just employed some google fu and apparently I can do this through Kies as well.

Through my ignorance though, I didn't even know what Kies is or that it even existed. This is going to be a long learning curve I feel.

On another topic, how many of you bothered to drain the battery fully on the first few cycles? Are there any downsides to just charging from say 18% again? (I'm struggling to drain the battery!)

Thanks.

That doesn't seem too bad..... how long was the screen time spread out across?

I thought the screens were actually more PE to the previous tech. despite the increase in res. iirc the GS 4 screen is supposedly 20% more power efficient than the GS 3 screen...

Avoid kies at all costs :p It is awful to use :o

IIRC is there not an option built into touchwiz that can allow you to transfer contacts from the iphone, I'll have a quick look and see.
