just done a bit of testing and it appears the source of my fps drop is view distance.

any fix for this ?

Try playing with foliage distance and/or depth of field settings?

Loving the psycho dlc

Just go nuts smashing the living daylights out of everything!!

Extra characters have never been apart of season pass, mechro was pre order content.

The new tiny tina dlc will be part of the season pass however.

The necro pack? I assume you mean the Mechromancer?

She is a fun char to play but end of the day its down to whether or not you think you'll play the game enough to get the most out of it. I'd like to get the Psycho pack but I just can't see myself playing it enough (especially on a new char) to be worth getting so I'll just wait for maybe a 50% sale on the DLC.

Don't get your handbag out just because i'm telling it how it is. The game is more demanding than people think.

You have 3 choices:

1. Overclock the GTX580
2. Dial down the graphics settings
3. Sell the GTX580 and get a better card.

I wouldn't say the game is demanding as I run it fine on my 6970 but your 2nd point has hit the nail on the head I imagine.

It's more demanding than a lot of people think when you've got the settings up.

i appreciate you assistance but i don't think the answer is to buy a new gpu.

gpu usage is around 40-60 % .....

unoptimized is more appropriate.

its a dx9 game that doesn't even utilize MSAA.

a modern toaster should do the trick

Do you even understand what "changing settings" means or did you skip over that due to finding it too confusing?

You might be better suited with a console.

Check a few pages back. His hardware spec is fine. He doesn't seem to acknowledge that things like "changing settings" or "software" exist though.

I guess things like Depth of Field may be - I tend to like playing without blur-o-vision so I've not experienced any potential performance impact of that one

i7 920 @ 3.9ghz.

it defiantly something cpu related.

like i said playing at 800x600 there is a 2 fps difference to playing at max with 1920x1080.

you claim this game is superbly optimized yet and also claim modest hardware should run this game max fine.

yet my i7 and msi 580 lighting extreme isn't good enough so i have to tone down the graphics??

fair enough if my GPU was at 99% load but in my experience when a game has fps drops in certain areas and these ares all have something in common, its a CPU problem .
