Just know for my usage I could have saved the best part of £300

I remember you ummed and arred before taking the plunge. I understand where you are coming from as well. I knew Nvidia were working on the 7 series when Titans were being released but was just expecting a refresh of the 6 series. For me, every ounce of grunt is welcomed and even though the 780 is so close, I have no remorse on buying a couple of Titans.

Nothing so elaborate

The best I will be able to do is the windows open in the middle of the night.

I don't think I will use the chiller much below room temps because of condensation and I don't want to get into insulating the pipework. The output from the chiller will go straight to the CPU first to try and get some extra speed out of it, the GPUs are more than fast enough already for the CPU (it's the bottleneck in the system).

I will probably aim to run the chiller at about 15c in the middle of the night for benching.

Condensation on Chiller is easy. Get Vaseline and paint it over all the caos etc. Hair Dryer to melt it and flows into gaps. Paper towels on board in gaps between slots. Done. Its the same basic principle for LN2.

For sure although my Hero is actually Shamino. He does not compete in OC league but beleive me he is the best and his scores are the best.

Shammy does R and D for ASUS ROG. I am benching with him at GSKILL on day two.

Shimano is awesome. Seen some of his scores and wow just wow. Very skilled.

Here are some benches using the first graphics test in 3dmark11, the reason for doing them was not to get a score but to show what GPU clocks were reached and how increasing the overclock works in practice.

For all of these overclocks the CPU was @5.1ghz

+161 on GPUs

+168 on GPUs no difference to actual clocks

+174 on GPUs a bump in actual clocks

+181 on GPUs no difference to actual clocks

+187 on GPUs a bump in actual clocks (hey were all over 1200mhz)

+194 on GPUs no difference to actual clocks

+200 on GPUs a bump in actual clocks, I crashed on this one near the end of the test but not before I got the clock speed.

The point of these runs is to show that you only get an increase in actual clocks if you overclock in 13mhz steps

Yes I did think the card would be special for a couple of years not just 3 months

Bit low on it atm as it has a duff fan

For people on high resolutions it is special. My last 2 cards, 5870 and 580 both ran out of VRAM. With 6GB in the tank it should last longer than a 3GB card and still have plenty of poke.

Remember it doesn't take too much to make a game unplayable.

Just for the record I don't regret buying a Titan and I would still buy one with the 780 on sale today.
