Killer Instinct

Details have just been announced that this will be a F2P game but at the beginning only 1 character (Jago) will be available.. not good -_-

Not cool.

This title doesnt need to be milked like this. Make a a proper release. The sales would be incredible
 
Okay, during E3 yesterday they announced that F2P was a misconception. Take a look below:

During the GameSpot E3 2013 stage event a few of the game developers from Double Helix Games were on stage to discuss their newly announced title Killer Instinct.

In particular a few rather important notes were made, the first thing mentioned was that there was a small misconception with the game being free-to-play. While the game is a launch title for the Xbox One, fans will be able to purchase the full game on it's release. There will also be a demo which comes with Jago as playable character where you can play all of the game's modes including online mutliplayer.

If you decided after playing the demo that you liked the game, you can selectively purchase packages which feature various characters.

Yesterday, during the announcement trailer Double Helix also showed off the character Glacius. It was confirmed that he would be fully playable during EVO 2013.

The last thing that was talked about was the game's 40 training lessons to try and teach players how to learn the game.

My excitement is officially back, I always played Cinder and Chief Thunder in the originals years ago =)

Not a bad way to do it really, i only ever play 1 or 2 characters from any one fighting game anyway

SF4 = Chun-Li & Ibuki
Tekken = LiLi
etc

If they make it cheaper just to play those characters then i'm in
 
They just need to re release the snes version

I used to love this game, so much time have passed and there's been so many great fighting games that's been released in that time.

I would love to play this game, but being an xbone executive I'm not going to get to play it. I've watched a few reviews of it and they are saying its a button masher; a disappointment all round.

Could KI sold me a console 15/10 years ago... Yes.. Can it sell me a console now; No. Not when there's proven history in an IP such as street fighter and great New IPs as blazblue.

There are two option the demo is jago with all the modes and you can buy the rest or you can buy the full game which will have everything.

I think it's a good option for people who are not sure and want to try out the game.

The game is looking good I saw the 720p ign video and the graphics are really good. Not into fighting game but this game makes me want to play it.
 
I've been talking about this in the Street Fighter thread, I'm really excited for this. Seems to be a marmite game though especially with the graphics and effects, a lot of people have said there's so much going on during fights it's hard to follow. Personally I think it looks beautiful, I already knew Cinder was in but they also teased Chief Thunder at Evo. Those were my two characters in the original, can't wait =)

They had to have Chief Thunder! He was also my favourite in the original :)
 
I think this looks awesome! I'd love to grab it one day, as like most I'm going down the ps4 route. Kinda gutted to be fair.
 
I really love what they've done to Glacius as well, again some people have complained but I really love that Double Helix are trying to get innovative with these character designs. I think Glacius now looks and plays better than before, can't wait to see what they do with Cinder. I think Chief Thunder will be closer to his original counterpart because he had a great design anyway where as Cinder and Glacius were a bit generic.
