320.18 Nvidia Drivers - Report your issues here

I don't understand all the bickering in this thread. Can a moderator tidy it up please?

I've got an Asus GTX 560/Win 7 - no artefacts yet but my GPU temp is hitting 65+C on load. I've not seen it this hot before. Going to try revert drivers tonight

Could you post back what temp drop you get by switching drivers ?

Thanks

well i've finally managed to try bf3, using 320.11 drivers and it seemed fine.

although my max temp was 94 using msi afterburner. Hope that's normal for gtx 780 :/D

I think anyone would back me up here, 94c is not normal, not by a long way. roll back before you do it damage.

back me up guys, 94c? that's not healthy

lol don't worry i played for about 2 minutes. and quit. i can't roll back any further than 320.11, it wouldn't let me go back to 314 as its too old for gtx 780

Has anyone considered that the issue may not be with the drivers but merely highlighted by it? Im not trying to make excuses but its worth considering that the could be other factors at play here, I.E as the drivers are designed/tested using reference cards it could be down to ways 3rd party manufacturers have designed their cards out of spec. Or since the 314s the may have been an update to Windows or a commonly used program which conflicts with the Nvidia driver installer it may be causing the 320s to install corrupt, then when people remove them and try to re-install the 314s they may end up corrupted too. The point is we have no idea whats going on apart from some dodgy looking coincidences so it makes perfect sense for Nvidia not to pull the drivers until they know if they're at fault as doing so prematurely would cause serious PR damage.

Not really enough information on it to make a call. Only thing that can be said at the moment is that theres almost definitely people jumping on the bandwagon as their card happened to die around the same time and also that theres enough end user reports that its highly likely a good number of them are genuinely caused by the drivers - some are backed up with compelling evidence, trying to sort which is which is another matter.

What was your fan speed

I used to find my cards got a lot hotter using the default fan profile playing games, than they did with the fans flat benching with an overvolted GPU.

MSI AB also has an unfortunate habit of locking the fan to 25% completely randomly and for no apparent reason.

If you have it setup like that it won't. (tick force fan speed update)
