Went out did my longest ever ride :D

Very windy, got soaked by a massive down pour near South Cerney, dried out on my way back through Lechlade and got soaked again about 8 miles from home :)

Bloody windy in places, almost enough to cause a sense of humour failure with some of the head winds and the cross winds caused a few wide eye moments :(

But I enjoyed it :p

Hows everyone doing on the Fizik challenge? I've only been out twice since it started. Away all next week. Doubtful I'll finish at this rate :(

1/3 of the way there, due to ride the South Downs Monday, which will be 12 hours or so in the saddle, so will be much closer, and all next week off to top it up to the 30 hour mark, not been out much this week due to work.

18.5 hours for me in the Fizik and up to about 718km in June.

I need to find a local hill to do some repeats on for that climbing challenge, otherwise I have no chance

^ Nice. I need to get out for a few hours tomorrow morning otherwise I have no chance. Forecast looks as bad if not worse than today though.

e: Woah it's completely changed from heavy rain and ridiculous winds all day to cloudy with slight chance of rain, 9mph winds & no gusts. Get in!

I'm getting a serious N+1 itch that needs to be scratched. May even sell the Ti for an R3 or something :o

Heavy couple of weeks at work, terrible diet and no exercise in that time meant out on the road today was a tough ride.

Still, great to be out there on a sunny day.

The Rapha challenge equates to 41 times around Mt Panorama, at 15 minutes a lap that's 10.5 hours....

The only problem being I can manage 3 laps at a time before my legs feel like they are going to go! Crazy challenge!

Was hoping to get out for 2-3 hours but it started raining after 3 miles, and after the soaking I got yesterday wasn't ready for another so did a quick 15miles mashing the big ring and getting a good sweat on instead :)

I just had a look at my segment time for Ditchling Beacon.

August 2012 - 7:48 - 7mph

June 2013 - 6:17 - 8.7mph

I knew carbon bottle cages made all the difference when climbing!

Since taking my back wheel off to check my brake pads, I cant get the gears to work properly

It is currently skipping 2nd gear (from 1st) and in 3rd I hear a "click" every so often (very faint)

any ideas?

Had a lovely ride today, one I've not before, known locally as the "euro" a steady climb up then a gorgeous flowing descent straight off the TV almost. Barrier on one side, rocks on the other, flowing corners and switch backs for about 3km straight.

The only bad part being at some point you have to turn around and ride back up it, a steady 7% for 3km...

Dragged my distance for the week up anyway. Need to graft hard this week where I am able!

Check the wheel skewer is tight and the wheel is seated in the dropouts correctly. If that's all fine then your indexing is out.

pretty sure its seated fine, one of the guys in the club checked that and made some cable adjustments, but had a bit of a problem though (was better than before) and now its skipping 2nd
but i'll check it again just incase
