What film did you watch last night?

This Is the End
Loved it! :D My wife and I went to see this last minute instead of Man of Steel. Great decision as it had both of us in tears with laughter!
From the trailer I thought it might not be all that good, but then it got pretty decent reviews and on RT. Jonah Hill, Seth, Jay, Franco, McBride (hilarious) etc just have some classic dialogue! It is a bit longer than necessary and essentially just a movie where adults never grew up (like me :))
8/10

Hot Tub Time Machine.

5/10

Amusing and easy to watch, if predictable and a bit messy. Worth a watch if you're feeling particularly brain dead.

The Station Agent - 9

It's the one with Peter Dinklage, was quite a nice movie in my opinion but I suspect it's not for everybody.

Jack Reacher - 7.5

Was actually surprised by how good this movie was, Tom Cruise seems to always deliver nice movies, I found that this movie is quite similar to "Shooter" with Mark Walhberg, both are nice popcorn movies.

No One Lives - 4/10

As soon as the WWE films logo came up on the screen at the start I just knew it was going to be average at best... And I was right.

V/H/S 2 - better than the first and really enjoyed it, some really good stories but some filler as well 7/10

Watched this in the afternoon and would agree with the above.

Man of Steel 9/10

Absolutely LOVED the final fight scene, so well done. Really good casting choices as well.

A really good movie all round, a point knocked off because it is a bit long and some of the action scenes really do drag.

After Earth - 2/10

Whilst I liked the idea of the storyline, the execution of it was poor. An alien race has created monsters that detect humans by fear, hunting them down to kill them. Its set 1000 years "after earth" was left uninhabitable due to all of the resources being used so they leave and end up on a planet that has an alien species on it (that you never see or hear about again...)

Supposedly everything on earth has now evolved to kill humans, with GIANT eagles, blood thirsty apes and leech creatures that paralyse you in seconds. Now, the film just full on fails right there as how the hell can evolution take place so quickly?! The air also cannot be breathed by will and jayden smith either, even though the entire planet is covered in tree's, whilst the alien one they are on is mostly desert. This would have been fine from an adaption point of view, if will smith didn't continously mention that "the gel coats your lungs so that you can accept more oxygen into your blood stream", which implies the EXACT opposite!

Last but not least, lets get to the acting, which is truly awful at points. Will smith plays a character that pretty much plays the entire film with his sons daft facial expression. Even worse, Jayden is supposed to be the main actor in this and falls flat on his face with a truly awful accent, his daft facial expression that never changes (born with it...) and the overly ridiculous ending where he turns into some sort of super warrior.

The film would have had SO much more promise if it didn't have jayden smith as the main actor and instead, had them both lead a team of survives through the now "alien" jungle of earth to retrieve the beacon, whilst being hunted by the "ursa" (basically, copy predator, with more of a story, with father and son elements).

Sigh

Dog soldiers

Me and gf watched it.

Numbers can't describe how good this film is

So I rate it as Super badass Awesome! On the awesomeness scale!

Bloody love that film, went to the cinema to watch it when it came out.

The Omega Man. One of several film versions of the book of I Am Legend, the latest being the Will Smith version. This one was from the 70s, with Charlton Heston. It was utter rubbish. It diverged even more wildly from the excellent book than the Smith version. The effects and music were awful 70s rubbish. There was nothing redeeming here.
