Fake arm which contains metalbar etc, goes across his (peculiarly) raised shoulders, strapped into device attached to metalbar. Real arm tucked into clothing. I was actually quite surprised to see this on Daily Mail today and how quickly so many daily mail readers had worked it out in the your comments section.

Indeed. There are usually 3 or 4 people doing this in Covent Garden making quick cash from thr tourists.
Dynamo's is very similar but not as good as the version on America's got talent, you have to look more carefully to see how that one is done.
