*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

just remembered...amazon use yodel if you pay for delivery. not risking amazon sending my ps4 through them, and never receiving it. :p so i've chosen free delivery as royal mail are pretty good.

yodel staff were found to be stealing the packages iirc, amazon had suspected their own warehouse staff at first but after a secret investigation found out it was yodel staff.

they have now switched delivery firms i believe.

ah fair play. i might change it back to paid delivery... im not sure :/

stuff going through royal mail usually gets delivered quicker where i live, than with courier company's.

ordered a couple of blackberrys once for xmas presents..cancelled them with amazon, as it had been two weeks (and after xmas!) and no sign of them. they turned up a further two weeks later  i was not amused :p

Where would be the best place to pre-order from on the high street do you think?
I don't want to deal with Game (too many bad experiences in the past).
I don't particularly want to order online either as i had to wait in all day for my Wii U on launch day and when it finally arrived late it was broken and i had to send it back.

I'd just like to get up launch day, walk into a shop and pick one up, no farting about.

supermarket probably.

Yeah i'd say Asda, Tesco something like that, im pre-ordered with Shopto from the 10th June, so i hope mine is secure. Just hope they aren't taking excessive amounts they cant ship out on release.

The overwhelmingly positive response given to PS4 at E3 this week has led to the company raising its sales expectations for the machine.

Global PlayStation boss Andrew House told The Wall Street Journal “the company is shifting its internal projections for the product after favourable reactions to the company's presentation Monday”.

Amazon has apparently seen such a sales spike for the machine that it is no warning customers that it cannot guarantee day one delivery of the machine as it fears launch day stock will be unable to meet demand.

Indeed, House admitted that "demand may well outstrip supply". GameStop executives confirmed similar concerns.

Have to wait and see what the UK/EU supply numbers are. a lot of the knee-jerk preorders were in defiance of the MS announcements so it'll be interesting to see what the final requirements are after people have calmed down a bit :p.

I do imagine though that many people won't get their release day machines even if they did preorder. Demand will still be massive, I think.

Not getting mine until March next year, so I'm hoping it'll be readily available by then.

for anyone waiting till march, hang on for easter deals to turn up on the high street. the console itself may not get cheaper but at least there should be a a couple of package deals knocking about. and if your really pushing the boat out i wouldn't be surprised to see a few places doing plasma/lcd packages as well.

I'm sure I had something delivered (a next day before 1pm) by Yodel

I think on that day I had one from Yodel and one from DPD, sometimes Citylink

had no issue with any of them
