Me - 5' 8", 10st 11lb, 32" waist, medium were a good fit, possibly could have got in the small. I'd be thinking large for you i would think, there is plenty of stretch in them in any case.

my size large Aeron race bib shorts turned up today.. i look a right tit in them :)
seems to fit ok, its a bit tight on the legs but i suppose they're ment to be, il give em a try in the morning.. very early while noones about lol

Nice afternoon jaunt in the Trough of Bowland, did a ride with a small group of work mates as we do from time to time going in a loop from Slaidburn.
Very leisurely social ride so no Strava blasting (spinning along with them mostly, i'm much faster uphill) but the weather was awesome, little traffic and plenty of hillage!

Can really recommend the area though, awesome.

Bib shorts are amazing. I can't think of any good reason to go back to regular shorts.

i've never used regular shorts, these are my first.. i only got my first road bike a week ago, rode it once for 200 yards and realised straight away i needed somthing padded under me bum, its a 10yr old bike my dad gave me and its a bit of a bone shaker.. my next post will probably be asking 'whats the best saddle' :p

I'm going to try the cotton cap under helmet in warm conditions tomorrow. I have to say, I feel/look a bit silly wearing the cap on it's own so it's coming straight off with the helmet!

22// Cycling caps are for cycling.
Cycling caps can be worn under helmets, but never when not riding, no matter how hip you think you look. This will render one a douche, and should result in public berating or beating. The only time it is acceptable to wear a cycling cap is while directly engaged in cycling activities and while clad in cycling kit. This includes activities taking place prior to and immediately after the ride such as machine tuning and tire pumping. Also included are cafe appearances for pre-ride espressi and post-ride pub appearances for body-refueling ales (provided said pub has sunny, outdoor patio – do not stray inside a pub wearing kit or risk being ceremoniously beaten by leather-clad biker chicks). Under these conditions, having your cap skull-side tipped jauntily at a rakish angle is, one might say, de rigueur. All good things must be taken in measure, however, and as such it is critical that we let sanity and good taste prevail: as long as the first sip of the relevant caffeine or hop-based beverage is taken whilst beads of sweat, snow, or rain are still evident on one’s brow then it is legitimate for the cap to be worn. However, once all that remains in the cranial furrows is salt, it is then time to shower, throw on some suitable après-ride attire (a woollen Molteni Arcore training top circa ’73 comes to mind) and return to the bar, folded copy of pastel-coloured news publication in hand, ready for formal fluid replacement. It is also helpful if you are a Giant of the Road, as demonstrated here, rather than a giant douchebag.

Johnny69 what gearing are you pushing I might gear up soon as I'm running 44t X 16t at the moment which is quite nice lol. Was thinking 46 x 16 or 48 x 17 but then I have to change both.

Mancunian guys, apologies but I thought I'd posted this yesterday - the boss won't let me come down to ride with you guys this weekend as it "wasn't planned and we've only a few days". Meh, we'll have to plan something properly.

Indeed. I'm now on my 5th Fizik saddle to try and get it perfect. Thank heavens for Wiggles no quibbles returns :)!

Should be at least one LBS near you that stocks Fizik Demo Saddles you can 'try before you buy' :)

So it's Rapha 15% off time again but only thing I'm remotely tempted by is the Softshell jacket but even with 15% off it's still £204 :(

well thats me done for the day, legs felt like they where going to cramp up on me when i got off. but not a bad 2 hour ride especially hauling 23st about.

I was going to mock you for being slower than me there on the segments I've ridden but you've got 4 stone on me so I can appreciate the pain on the hills. Get yourself into the ocuk strava group though as it's quite motivating.

You can get fairly nice similar length route by heading down to Rawtenstall and coming over Old Betts to Rochdale and then up either Whithworth or Shawclough (hillier) road to get back to Shawforth. I rode it last year from a mates in Rawtenstall. http://app.strava.com/activities/16406077
