I know, but I thought there was an interim update between 10211 and Amber?

Are you confusing firmware and OS updates?

8.010211.XXX is the current OS version GDR 1 i believe and 1232.5957.1308.XXXX is the current version of the firmware.

The amber update will contain a update OS Build version 8.0.10327.77 or 8.0.10328.78 and a updated firmware.

well i reserved a 1020 from clove. (sim free)
why should a consumer fiddle with the technical stuff of flashing a ROM from a network provider? They shouldnt and it would probably void warrenty too.

at the end of the day, if a consumer bought a phone then they expect everything that has been explained/stated etc...especially spending that amount of money :)

What makes you so sure the 1020 won't suffer the same issue?

the fact that the 4G enabled stuff would apparently be released very very soon, well before the 1020 gets released.

and a bit of faith....

otherwise, I will go to nokia and blow them up :)

Does anyone have a recommendation for some decent headphones for use with this mobile, I'm thinking some in ears, budget upto around £100?

And what's this mobile like for music quality?

Ta :)

I use Shure SE425 with my Lumia 920 and I have found the quality to be much better than of my iPad 3 and iPhone 4

I'd ether recommend looking at Shure SE315/215 or Sennheiser's

Looks like the GDR2 update is beginning to appear in the wild, the verge is reporting on HTC and Samsung users getting the update if they have an unlocked phone, so not long now hopefully...

Thanks Andy, would you say the phone does the 425's justice? I'm also considering the HTC 8x due to it having an AMP which would help drive the Shure's?

Also can goto the 425's if they are worth it over the 215/315's?

I don't think I have ever ran them at full volume to be honest, as its just too loud. I normally stick to around 22/24 on the volume which is loud enough for me.

The only criticism of the 425 is they lack bass, which seems to be the same feedback that I have read on few review sites. So if its a lot of bass heavy music you listen to I would be inclined to look at ether the 535 (which I should have bought in high insight now) or the 315 which my colleague at work gives them the big thumbs up. However, that said in terms on quality I have been very impressed with the 425's I can hear details in music which I've never heard before using other earphones.

I would also choose Nokia over HTC when it comes to WP8, as Nokia have really put a lot of ground work into the platform. Plus Nokia often get a lot of exclusive app's depending on if you are a app junky.
