Borderlands 2 release date confirmed ( Launch trailer also )

i eventually got to Sanctuary at level 55, very hard work.... about the same as the DLCs.

i got all my guns updated, no wonder i was useless, because the increase in power is huge, the new shotgun goes from 8 800 damage to 16 000, the Jakobs sniper is 60 000 and the Maliwan incendary sniper is 34 000, those elemental rail snipers are all at 46 000, now that's flipping huge fire damage.

i let rip at that bloke on the dart shield at Marcus's shop, now with the new 100 000 amp discharge shield, i got a Crit hit damage of 1.8million..... i went FLIPPING HECK :D;)

i'm not sure what to do now, i might carry on to the end at level 61 and then redo the DLCs, this is because there's quite a few great guns to collect in the main game if i carry on...and also that amazing Firehawk shield !

i've easily got another two weeks gaming to do, now i think that's pretty good:cool:

OH FOR GOD's SAKE

my new guns are totally useless !

you are looking at about 2 or 3 headshots from the 34000 fire maliwan to kill, the other monster snipers are rubbish too

this 3rd playthrough is one hell of a lot harder than the 2nd, it is only easy to kill them if you S**g them first.....i can also kill them easily by throwing a ``homing fire grenade``, whilst shooting S**g, but this means i use loads of grenades, there is no way that i'll be able to kill a Rabid Stalker, i'll have to run past him

they've ramped up the AI health/shield by at least 3 times over the 2nd playthrough, because in the 2nd playthrough the snipers are all one shot kills

it used to be that fire was best, but now Sl*g is better, because they seem to shake off the fire damage, the Sl*g SMG kills them pretty quickly.
so my guess is that i'm after a very high damage Sl*g sniper

Zer0 becomes a glass cannon in UVHM, you really need to start using your ability more and switching in/out a S**g weapon.

Personally I got tired of Zer0 being so easily beaten down, played a Gungerzker which I dub as the "Funzerker" and Mecromancer due to their DPS being much much higher when spec'd correctly.

You really need a Pimpernel and to spec heavily in the first skill tree to make zero viable as a sniper in UVHM, otherwise concentrate on melee and get a sl*g Rubi, Rapier and Love Thumper and put most of your points in the 3rd tree. I never really played melee/combat type games but a melee zero is very powerful with a bit of practice. As Weazle says, if you just want to dive in all guns blazing and kill everything fast and rarely die then gunzerker is the character to use.

And rarely die? You must be playing a different Gunzerker. Doesn't matter which character you pick (except Krieg w/ Mania) you are still pretty easy to take down in UVHM if you're not in cover. Even speccing majorly into his survival tree won't benefit you all that much.

No points at all in survival, all you need is a Rubi that you get from the quest where you collect the beer barrels. You keep alive by doing lots of damage. I've played this game more or less since it came out and I only found out recently that all the Moxxi weapons heal you by a percentage of the damage you do while holding them. In theory you should never die but every now and then the last enemy is behind cover.

you're not kidding, Zero drops every 5 seconds, but so did Gunzerker, i'm trying to kill Bloodwing, but i've given up, i'll go back later on, i'm now back at the Golden Chest at level 57 ;)

i'm after a fast fire shotgun... the one that's similar to Conference call/Talking Shotty, because i can not kill him with the 16500 Torgue, it doesn't fire fast enough

i dont know what the hell they've done to this 3rd playthrough, but a game should never be this hard to play..ever !

Rabid Stalkers are dead easy now..... i just run past them :D: all i do in this 3rd playthrough is just run to the mission location, i've only killed about 1/3 of the enemies, it would take too long otherwise.

i wouldn't say that Zero has poor health, because so did Gunzerker, it's just that they've made the game much harder to play on purpose, because with the 100 000 shield you can still stand and fight out in the open ok, but the big difference is, your guns used to kill quickly, but they dont now

kill quickly = survive...... but to hang around in the open = die

the way to do it is to throw a SL*g homing grenade, wait and then run out into the open, or use a SL*G SMG and quickly switch, the problem you have is that some AI are resistant to fire acid or shock, so this is a real nuisance.

the best balance the game has is the the 2nd playthrough, but this 3rd playthrough they've got it wrong, it's too hard to play !

no, you cant make Zero viable as a sniper on the 1st skill tree, because it's 4 or 5 headshots with a Jakobs 60 000 to kill, he's more of a ``Stealth Soldier`` now.

the best sniper by far is Mordacia in the 1st game, he is the only true one shot kill, Zero was only close to this in the 2nd playthrough...but he's now useless, but he might come back at level 61, because by then ( 4 levels) the game might level up evenly.

if i remenber rightly, the 2nd playthough was also a total bitch at this same part of the game...mid way, but even so, this 3rd session definitely feels miles harder.

i dont know what to say man..... a total bit*h or what !!!

Can't believe there raising the level cap again, going to be interesting to see what builds the pro's can come up with.

All this talk of additional content though... just, no. Give us weapons! Just, more weapons! I'd play through the game over and over again if I knew I'd get some different legendaries each time, no matter how low the drop rate is.

I don't think so but honestly, I've looked at them on the wiki and they don't seem all that brilliant.

Yeah I don't think you do. Though unless your playing with friends, you'll have to install a mod that tricks the game into believing your in a party of 4 so that raid boss's drop the higher level legendaries.

But yeah your right, they really are awful in comparison to most of the legendaries. They're not even as good as some of the seraph items.

I just want to know that there working on 3 now...

i've just be reading about it, there's loads of stuff to come, i think there's a return to Zombie island  a sort of ``headhunter game pack``, plus also another DLC, I also think a level rise to 70 is totally stupid

Gearbox have to be careful, i mean flipping heck, it's hard enough getting to level 60  let alone 70 !!!!!

i will ask Evil what the game's like at level 62 and if he sais ``it's the same as it was, you still have to SL*G them first``.... then i'll not bother

it's now time to leave pandora and play BL3, yes make the 3rd game hard but not like this, back their health off by 40% and keep this proportion the same all the way up to level 60 you want it to be like the 2nd playthrough, where the bloody sniper guns work !!!!!

Mal X, I feel for you totally .... My first character was Zer0 and I levelled him up to level 50. When the Mecromancer came out, my mate was talking about the DPS on Anarchy tree. I made the switch to that class and then another mate was using a gunzerker and I also started a gunzerker. I have fully levelled up the mechromancer and gunzerker to 61, left Zer0 at 50 and I have doubts I'll bother continuing that class tbh, also the zerker and mechro suit my playstyle in BL2 more :D

The only thing I can suggest Mal X, is to go the Gearbox forums (http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/forumdisplay.php?f=152), there's a lot of tips and builds to try out. There's a wealth of information where people have done calculations and there's quite a number of skills that don't require a full whack of 5 points due to diminishing returns as well as some abilities being useless when used with others as they give similar benefits.

The Warrior was kinda easy, even with having to carry an unmanned co-op player. Don't think he broke my shield once.

Are there any side quests and items you'd recommend getting before going into TVHM or should I just jump straight in?

Well from what little they've said about the new mode they've basically gone with "Its going to be completely biased against you" so if you're somehow expecting it to get easier I think you are going to be sorely disappointed...

Mechromancer is lvl46 now. Not far off 50. That'll make Siren the only one I've not really levelled (since she's level 9).

The best sniper is the Pimpernel, you get it from the robot in Washbourne Refinery as a quest reward. You can get a normal critical hit but there is also a sweet spot which gives you 5 critical hits for one shot, add that to the sniper skill bonuses of zero and you can beat anything in the game.
