I'd wiggle the centre pin up a bit and see if that helps. Misfiring for me as mostly been the wires being loose. But the pin is worth having a go at.

I had the same issue after dropping my first vamo fell out of my shirt pocket onto a hard floor. It would occasionally switch itself off and seemed to fire at only half power. I just replaced it (with the chrome one accidentally!). I still have it in my draw for spare parts though :p

Bit of percussive maintenance on the Vamo's thread with a nice heavy adjustable spanner, and a freshly charged battery, and it seems to be behaving this morning... will have to borrow some pipe grips from work to get the top off properly though. I have some spare carbon fibre vinyl almost identical to the stuff Vapant used so I might well do the same to cover up the grubby black chrome...

Keep at it, it's strange at first but once you've gone a few days you won't look back. So many nice flavours to try! :-D

I stopped smoking on the 2nd May this year and now can't stand the smell of fags, I love vaping and can't ever see me picking up a cigarette again.

Pretty much the same as me altho i quite havent given up the cigs myself, smoke about 2 a day at the moment. So far im about 2 weeks in, found a nice voltage to vape at with my provari using bubblegum juice. Got it at 3.8v which gives me a nice throat hit and plenty of vapour.

I have a generic 20 pound Ecig which was bought off a market which allows you to refill with Juices. I'll be looking at investing in a better one at some point with two batteries etc but for the time being I need a decent juice supplier.

The stuff I tried previously made my teeth feel horrible, believe it's a PG based and I need VG?

Anyone know what other juices I can try that are nice and don't require any mucking about with?

Choosing your juice is a very personal thing, so it's hard to make recommendations, but if you tell us whether you prefer tobacco flavours or are open to things like fruit/caramel/etc then we may have some suggestions. I know the majority of the chaps on here are big fans of Scope's apple tart liquid (ask scorchisio for a contact email if you want to try it), alternatively House of Liquid make an awesome set of very realistic tobacco liquids (try their el toro range, specifically el cigarillos on their website).

The basic market-stall ecigs aren't great, so when you go to upgrade give usd a shout before you click the "buy" button, just in case we can offer any cost-saving advice or suggest better products in your budget.

Well, I'm using a ego I believe. I filled my carto earlier tonight in prep. I've got an ego battery, clearomiser ce4 and some vanilla ice cream e juice. Its not too bad after it gets heated up. I think because I tried it from cold it was a bit ooer.

The ego battery is a good starter, but you may find that a variable voltage battery is better suited to you if you aren't getting the hit you need from your ego.

I found that holding the fire button for a half second before I took a draw off of it helps to get the coil hot before you start your vape. Also, experiment with slower, longer draws on your ecig, rather than a short hard pull.

Hi Devrig,

Cheers for your input.

Got a bit fed of the cheap market one always slightly coming apart etc and then having to take it apart and reassemble it to get it working again and only have the one battery so considering changing up fairly soon tbh but don't want to spend silly amounts of money. Since it's been a pain in the ass I've just been smoking normally again.

I don't actually like the taste of tobacco anymore so after flavours like caramel etc. The starter ones I got were red cow (wasn't too bad), golden virginia (eerggghh) and vanilla (yum), had these in mid strength which was 14mg and was getting extremely high off of it which was fun. I tend to smoke 6 rollies a day or so (golden virginia) so reckon I'll be good on the low nicotine ones and just use it a lot.

Need two batteries and two tanks in a carry pouch with more natural based juices. The market ones ripped my throat to shreds and made my teeth feel horrible!

It sounds like you might be better suited to 6-8mg juice, which will be much smoother on your throat and get you less "high" (you can always vape more if you like getting that nic rush though). The good news is that you don't need to spend silly amounts of cash to get up and running with a sustainable setup.

Something like this might be up your street. If you don't get on with the atomisers (the lads on here seem to rate evods, I haven't tried them yet) you can put pretty much any other stomiser on there. The 2.6ohm coils they come with are a bit high res for those batteries imo, but they can be replaced very cheaply (you'd want to do that every 2-4 weeks anyway) with lower resistance coils that would suit the voltage those batts output better.

Fasttech deliveries can take a couple weeks, but they're cheaper than any UK vendor so it's up to you where you buy from.

As far as juices. You might like RY4 (I like the Hangsen RY4, and the Cloud9 RY4 is good, but sweeter) since it is a blend of caramel, tobacco, and vanilla. Easily available from the UK and very popular.

I started with these http://www.vapeland.co.uk/vision-v3-ego-black-kit---900mah-97-p.asp
Regarding juices, u could try Scope's jiuces, just send Scorchiso a trust about it or the alchemists cupboard is supposed to be very good http://www.thealchemistscupboard.co.uk/ or do a google search

This is basically what I have now. Always worked well, the hit was a bit harsh on occasion, wasn't sure if that was the juice or the fact the atomizer was a bit strong.

The EVOD sounds like it's more pain than it's worth. I ideally want something that doesn't require mucking about with too much or parts that are going to constantly go. This is the exact one I purchased: http://nismoke.co.uk/Kits?product_id=76

Looks like an ego I think?

I got on with it okay but the build of it feels fairly cheap, I want something that feels a bit more solid. The metal cap and the plastic tube parts you put in your mouth tend to come out of line and requires pushing down on a table hard to get it back in line to use properly and on two/three occasions I'd get a mouth full of juice and would have to run from my desk to the toilets to rinse my mouth out which was a pain!

I never needed to buy anything on it and the atomizer seems to go on forever, I was using it for over a month and it worked just as good as when I bought it. Aren't they meant to be replaced after a certain length of time?

I ideally want a replacement that has the end light up if possible to trick my mind into smoking more. When the light went on mine it wasn't quite as nice anymore :(

Resistances for ecigs means nothing to me as I don't understand it, I presume its how much power it draws from the battery so the catomizer will works harder/lighter to suit the users needs?

That is an ego battery alright. You can put a different atomiser on that. Maybe try a cartomiser if you want something no-faff. They're essentially a sponge with a heating coil down the middle.

As far as resistances go, you're correct. A lower resistance means that at the same voltage (your battery is fixed voltage) the coil will be hotter andproduce more vapour and hit as a result.

Devrij, there was no message, just a quote of my message?

Yeah I just noticed that! My reply is actually inside the quote just after the bit where you say it is an ego. My phone and fumbling fingers must have conspired against me. Now edited for clarity

You need to stop commenting about scopes juices. Thats about the tenth time you slate his goods and ive had enough, everybody else loves them including me so just stop putting them down.

Why? Are you in collaboration with him or something and taking a cut? Why should you even care about my OPINION?

If people like his ejuice then fair enough as it's different strokes for different folks but I'm just warning people to order small quantities before splashing their cash like I did.

You were going against the grain sir. A sheep that bleated a different tune if you will. Such displays of individual thought cannot go un punished!
