What are you after? Is your mother a heavy smoker?
The general consensus is to avoid the "cig-alikes" (although most start with them as they are the more common ones on the high street) and go straight to an "Ego" type device. The benefits of this being better battery life and more choice in what/how you vape. You're not limited to one brand of pre-filled cartomiser (often mis-sold as the equivalent of 40 stinkies!

) which in my own experience only lasts a couple of hours before needing replacing/refilling.
I would always recommend these guys:
Vapeland.co.uk Vision V3 Ego Starter Kit £26.99
It's a decent kit at a good price - 2x 900mah (Cig-alikes are around 180mah!) Ego batteries, so should last the day with 2x Vision V3 Clearomisers - rebuildable, meaning you don't have to replace the whole atomiser once it starts to lose performance.
Add some juice (Most people starting out will assume they want a Tobacco/Cigarette flavour, such as this
Marlboro wannabe, but quickly switch to nicer, fruity flavours. A few will go for
RY4 as it is a tobacco flavour, but with more of a sweet nutty, caramel, cake taste. Not all RY4 flavours are the same!) making sure you buy small amounts -
JooseJuice is very good value for ordering 10ml samples - £1.49 plus very reasonable p&p (depending on the size of your order)...
I'd grab a few spare heads to replace the coil in the clearomiser, or buy a couple of different types (Kanger Evods are excellent value and perform very well, or spend a but more on a Kanger ProTank for pretty much the best atomiser at it's price point) - all readily available at most vaping sites, prices can vary wildly, but don't forget to allow for p&p as some do take the Micky!

If I can be of any more help to you, don't hesitate to ask - there's a few experienced Vapers, plus more of us who've jumped on the ride - it seems daunting at first, but you'll learn the jargon pretty quickly!
