How exactly did he have a better season than bale, they don't even play in the same position to be compared and Suarez got a ten match ban for trying to eat his opponents...:p

He had a better season than Titus Bramble. They don't play in the same position either, but I'm pretty confident that you'll agree on that.

If Bale stayed out on the wing and Suarez stayed upfront you might have a case but they both drifted across the whole of the pitch and usually played behind a striker.

Stats don't mean nothing though :p
Depends entirely on the stats used. Comparing the goals, assists and chances created of two attacking players gives a better idea of who's more of a threat than pass completion, tackles and most likely to win a monkey lookalike contest :p

Scored more goals and got more assists. If he was English and not damaged in the head he would've been player of the season imo. As it was he ****ed up his chance when he auditioned for a part in the Walking Dead :(

The damaged in the head bit is the part I was thinking of. Saying that would Liverpool have been able to sign him if he wasn't damaged in the head?

Saying that I still picture that goal last season where he controlled the ball with 1 touch over his shoulder then had the presence of mind to dummy the keeper inside the pen area. Superb goal and for me far more impressive than a 30 yard screamer.

Anyone link a gif of that goal I'm talking about the team against escapes me :(

Simple fact of the matter is that Liverpool are not going to sell him to us or any other PL club unless we or someone else pays over £50mill for him. I read earlier today on the Daily Mail that we could have him for £55mill but i cant see Arsenal stumping that sort of money for him. Plus i think if say Real came in and said look heres £41mill, Liverpool would sell him and thats why they will keep hold of him as they wont sell him to another PL club.

I also read that he wont be fighting this so called clause thats in his contract as it seems to be pretty water tight from what i read.

So with that being said, Wenger is just wasting his time as per usual trying to sign Suarez. A monumental waste of time this transfer window has been tbqh, so many links to players but nothing, nada and it doesnt seem likely we will be buying anyone from what Wenger is barking about lately. So while Spurs strengthen with Paulinho and Soldado...Wenger foolishly thinks that our current squad is good enough to win trophies and get into CL again next season...i hope so because if we dont, then its only a matter of time before the chants of 'Spend some ****ing money you tightwad' begins:p

Interesting blog here. Seems to touch on some things you mentioned above as well as go on to say that there may be some tension between board and Wenger.

No the general conclusion was stats mean little here if I remember correctly, you can't pick and choose :p

Come on you must know the goal he drags it from his right foot and then slots it home with his left.

IIRC I actually stood up and applauded it at the time in my house on my own ! Bearing in mind words can't describe how much I detest the guy!:)

That for me is a superb goal

Such a good goal, it's the little look out the corner of the eye, then takes it rnd. superb

You don't take matters to court without reason. If the contract is watertight and the release clause not met then what would be gained by going to court other than losing money and alienating the club.

His contract with Gro.... His first Dutch club was water tight, didn't stop him.

Agree.

Suarez had a better season than Bale, RvP was about the same but everyone circle jerks over Bale because he's British.

Great player but the world is being trolled something rotten rating him at 85mil, fantastic business if/when Spurs cash in.

It's up there with my favourite goals of all time. The way he controlled the ball from Enrique was unreal - I'll never tire of watching that.

As for who had the best season. We had our own poll on here which he won comfortably, which was quite telling considering how disliked he is:

If Spurs get £86m and Morata for Bale, along with Soldado coming in, then they should really be looking to put themself in a position to challenge the top 3 next season, let alone the top four.

They've got a weak defence and very little backup compared to United, City and Chelsea. Spurs are in competition with Arsenal and possibly us, if we start the season as we finished the last, for fourth and I'd put money on Arsenal again.

Calderon said Ronaldo wants around 600k a week for new contract lol , either he wants away and know Madrid won't pay that or he has gone insane

I thought the original deal was he ended up on over 500k per week anyway on the last year of his original contract. 25% pay rise per year.....

That was every where at the time. That's why I doubt he would ever take the pay cut to come back to England.

They'd have £86m to spend, with two top strikers already through the door....

I'm not sure selling your best player and bringing a much needed striker will get you into the top 3. Shame they didn't qualify last season as they'd quite obviously be in a much better position to splash the Bale money.
