I did it as part of the racing training I did a few weeks back. Along with one foot, one handed riding.
I think they do actually produce they're own wheels and they're not that good. AFAIK Most of the bikes made in the Middle East are produced in factories owned by Giant.
I think I understand what you mean, in so far as if you're going to be spending thousands of pounds on a bike you want it to be "special", and having a common brand makes it less special somehow. Then you discover that they're made in the same factories using the same processes, and then you just feel cheated. Granted, they're still put together in Italy, but does that make it worth the premium?Any idea what the wheels on that actually are? (I take it they'll be re-branded something).
Also, is it just me that wouldn't drop exotic Italian bike money on a Giant/Trek/Specialized etc? I'm so vain...
Pretty sure Merida and Giant are the biggest two in Taiwan, but these companies are now outsourcing their own production to China. So you could have a an "Italian" or "American" bike assembled at home but made by a Taiwanese company, by their factory in China!
seems a much healthier recipe to the one you linked where you might as well just take a bag of sugar out with you
Wait 'til 11 speed comes out and the 10 speed will drop in price.Speaking of new bikes; has anybody seen any with the latest Ultegra Di2 6870 groupset on it? I crave electronic shifting, but it seems silly getting a 10 speed Di2 when the 11 speed update is just around the corner.
That's kind of the point. You need carbs (sugar) whilst cycling, not protien bars.
While I would like an 11-32t cassette, I suppose I could live with 11-28t if it means saving several hundreds of pounds. The bike that I am currently lusting over is the Van Nicholas Aquilo SE, as a replacement for the Yukon. The sad thing is, I paid £2300 for the Yukon and I doubt I'd get much more than a grand for it now, only two years later.Wait 'til 11 speed comes out and the 10 speed will drop in price.
