lol tvlicensing

We were having a discussion about this subject at work yesterday. One old bloke said that even if you disconnect/remove the aerial and just watch dvds etc. you'd still need a license because the tv has a tuner and therefore can still receive signals. He then finished by saying "I know the TV license law because I used to work at Dixons". It took a lot of effort to not burst out laughing.

I've had no issues. Wrote a letter explaining that I watch no TV whatsoever and had no hassle from them. I get a yearly letter reminding me to notify them if the circumstance change, but nothing beyond that.

Indeed. Most of the YouTube folks seem to avoid paying for the lulz.

I avoid paying because I don't have a tv. But I don't think i should have to sign up to the bbc tv license database just to prevent from being harassed and having my house searched every second week. I also like to waste the BBC time as they like to waste mine.

Are you legally allowed to listen to the radio channels broadcast on terrestrial without a TV license?

He wouldn't be asking to look at your browsing history anyway, you're ridiculously paranoid about the whole situation frankly.
