*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

Ah so it does have FM - I'd never use it anyway.

Stock S4 browser was great when I used it. Though I'm on AOSP now.

I find it has trouble displaying forums and is not as good as the browser on the s3 no quick controls etc.
Regarding the camera when taking a panorama shot, if there is light in the shot say sunlight it overexposes? making the picture just too bright and lacking any detail.

Displayed the forum just fine for me:

I know just use Quick ICS with the fonts on largest setting for forum use. And Chrome for general browsing.

Yes but it is not displaying evenly as it would on the old the browser, i find xda is a nigtmare at times, sometimes displaying the poster in huge letters and the topic in really small letters other times the other way round.

Tried that still displays funny at times.
Any thoughts on the camera issue? should add that leaving the camera on auto it's not as bad.
Presume you have to root to use quick ics?

Can't help you with panoramic as my camera app is different (AOSP).

Yes need root for Quick ICS, as it relies on AOSP browser.

Yeah i have no idea what happened to mine, it just started getting really warm around the SD card slot and then just got worse, Post 6920 and onwards were my issues if your interested. :)

Cheers buddy will have a read. Someone else on XDA was having very similar issues to and they have requested warranty too. Mine's gone back to o2 today so shall see what occurs!

i still cant decide between this and the HTC One. Is there any definative reason that would sway it? although i have read the S4 doesnt have FM radio?

I chose the S4, due to the bigger screen, deeper blacks, although I did like the SLCD display of the HOX which was beautiful so the One will look just as good or better with the SLCD. S4 has the MicroSD slot, useful for loading movies etc on. Better notification light. Array of features most of them gimmicks but some useful, I find the swipe to answer call useful especially when I get a call and my hands are dirty or gelling my hair for example. I like the design it's pretty slick and slim as well. Camera is decent better than my N4. Overall I like it, not as smooth as AOSP rom's on default TW but it's still plenty plenty fast no issues running anything.

My girlfriend ordered the HTC One for herself, so I could play with it if she got it, unfortunately she ordered black instead of silver, and her replacement went missing in the hands of Yodel so got a refund and opted for the S4 herself. Will be cool to test out group play and such.

All I can say is that the S4 without a doubt the best phone I've owned, I also was considering the One but couldn't get on with the speakers on the front, a good idea, horrible design wise. And the screen on the S4 is so impressive as is the battery.
Just powered my way through 23hrs with 4 and 1/2hrs screen time. And that's not from full charge 85-90% I'd say as I was swapping between roms. Whilst this ROM settles in I might get a little more from it, but obviously with average usage 2hrs I should easily get 2 days out of it.

Which Rom would you say is the best for battery life? I do love the stock google edition, but the battery drain was pretty bad compared to stock.

I've got to admit, I only had the stock ROM on my S4 for 3hours so I have no idea what battery life is like on that. I've used PACMAN and ProBAM mainly; PACMAN saw me through ~24Hrs with 4Hrs screen time and ProBAM I'd guess will give me ~24Hrs with 5Hrs screen time. There's not a lot in it if I'm honest, it's charging now so I'll report back tomorrow evening with my findings.

Does ProBAM use the stock AOSP font?

It's either ProBAM or PACMAN for my next rom flash.

Probam uses Roboto Condensed from 4.3. Out of the two, pacman seems to be the better developed. Probam has some extras but i cant find a use for them (s-pen stuff, really??)

other than the (new) settings UI in pacman and the font in probam, there's naff all difference between the core roms.
