Stopped playing this a long time ago but would love to get back into it. Just hope its not to hard to catch up on the game since I last played it 4-5 months ago. Any other news about the expansion?

Shame we'll have to pay a fortune to get it. I've paid £45 for this, no intention to play any more unless they add an absolute shedload of content. However I imagine they'll add a few more campaigns that aren't even as big as the current ones.

I came back to the game a few weeks ago, just to see how it felt after playing Path of Exile for so long.
Well... I knew someone had been on my account because I had a few notifications from Blizzard regarding login locations being different etc.
Found I suddenly had 2 max level monks in hardcore! (not max paragon level though...damn lazy gold farmers)

Anyways, they were completely stripped of gear except for a few magic find pieces so i spent the 1mill or so i had to gear them up, and promptly died on both within an hour.
So yea, that's me done with the game :)

Not sure if the content announced with the new expansion is enough for me to get back into the game. Stopped playing after 3-4months of launch and while I loved it, I don't get much enjoyment from farming the same bosses - over, and over and over. If there was a no-AH server, I may come back (tbh there is no reason for it not to anymore, the consoles have them).

Pretty much this. The Auction House 100% killed the game for the majority of players. the legendary item drops before the Paragon patch were non existent or useless when they did drop.

Just before I stopped playing for good I remember spending more time placing items to sell on the AH or searching the AH than actually playing the game.

No way I will be splashing out on the expansion.

The only reason I stopped playing the game was because all my friends did, I actually enjoy it but I understand why a lot of people dropped the game. I play the game for the lore and Malthael coming back as the Archangel of Death is really interesting, be interesting to see if Imperius joins him or stands against him based on the end of days prophecy and his general behaviour toward the end of D3.

I'll be right back in there when the expansion drops. Hitting paragon 100 was what stopped me from playing any more as at that point I had (to my mind) beaten the game and farming more gear was pointless. I do still do the occasional run through as its quite satisfying bashing some demons!

Nothing will rival the sheer pain/satisfaction of beating Inferno pre-nerf though. Its a shame you cant play a pre 1.0.3 version since most people wont even know how hard a game it was on release.

Looking forward to the expansion, love this game. Only reason I don't play now is I've done everything except reach Paragon 100 (think I'm around 90). Quite disappointed that the expansion is all about the Angel of Death and there's no Necromancer class, and that it's only 1 act.

You'l be even more stoked to hear that P91 is only 75% of the way to 100 xp wise - I am actually excited for this atm, really good cinematic to start things off with

Par for the course really

D2 --> D2:LOD - Added 1 act
Titan Quest --> Titan Quest Immortal Throne - Added 1 act

However its the other bits that make the difference. D2:LOD and TQIT are significantly better games across all 5 acts than their non-expansion predecessors due to the additional classes/features/loot.
