Have I lost it?

I have been a gamer ever since I built my first rig.

The first game I lost my life to was probably Diablo 2. I had played a couple of Spora games before then with friends which I spammed pretty hard. Then, like many others on the board, I got heavily involved with the Counter-Strike series. Just as I started playing 1.6, Source came out. Joined a clan, became massively addicted (and pretty good!) joined a team, LANned, the lot. I basically lost my high school social life to this game and would always turn down social events in favour of a good PCW.

Alongside playing CS:S I started playing GW2 with a couple of IRL friends who I had played D2 with. This too sucked some of my soul out through my eyeballs  and stole many a late nights from me.

The next chapter in my gaming career began when I started university, or just before. World of Warcraft. Bad timing indeed! I dropped out the first year at uni and picked it up a year later. I was a bit more mature and managed to balance things a bit better.

Recently I haven't really been playing much at all. I've tried various other MMOs: Conan, Rift, Aion etc. and always end up back in WoW doing nothing but camping that damned Time Lost Proto Drake. I have tried LoL, DotA2, Diablo 3 (:() and am just about to try GW2.

My problem is, nothing seems to capture my passion for gaming like any of the other games I've played before has. I think it might be partly down to not really having anyone to play with. Most of my mates play DotA2 and I really can't get into it so there must be another reason.

Anyone feel the same way? Have I lost my passion for gaming?

I wouldn't say so, just haven't found a game you enjoy at the moment, I'm exactly the same I can play a few games but then I find a game I really enjoy and play it to death :p

I do hope so! I keep thinking about the good times I had in WoW and CS with friends, I don't think it'll ever reach those levels of fun again but half of that would be enough to make me want to spam some games off again.

I want to try this Elder Scrolls MMO and will probably play the next WoW expansion solely for the levelling race initially, then see how that turns out.

Id lost track of pc gaming, played.SOF2, Joint ops a fair few years ago and loved them. Then I bought a 360, I've only just got myself a new gaming rig and loving some of the games and loving pc all over again.

Personal favs at the mo are.

Neverwinter, Red Orchestra 2, Arma 3, DayZ, Torchlight 2, Guild wars 2.

I go through phases of not wanting to game but it doesn't last long. Also summer is quite bad for game releases so nothing much excitable arrives until October onwards!

I know the feeling. Ever since i stopped playing WoW at the start of Cata, every game i have played since has not kept me interested for long. I thought Diablo III would be THAT game, but it wasn't.

Next gen is around the corner, so will be nice to see what that offers.

Also makes me think "what's the point", kinda. Why not sack it all together? But I still like sitting in this chair lol.

I feel the same as you spend thousands on pc gaming stuff. Sit there and watch youtube, because all current games are just not as good as 10 years ago.
