What film did you watch last night?

Star Trek - Into Darkness

I thought it was fan bloody tastic :) I am a huge Star Trek fan, but this one was getting poor reviews so I wasn't sure what to expect.

One particular scene was a nod back to Star Trek II, almost brought a tear to my eye :)

Recommended!

Road to Perdition

8.5/10

Great film. I thought the child actor who played micheal jr was amazing (one of the best performances by a kid i have seen...and inormally hate child actors)

One of my favorite ever films, to this day it's left me with a lasting hatred for Daniel Craig :D

The Expendables 2 - 3/10 utterly dire, the only redeeming feature was some of the one liners.

I wouldn't rate it that low personally, the original I didn't like because they advertised Arnie in it and he had 1 20 second scene  That maybe got a 3/10 :p

2 was a good blast as a brainless action movie with the one liners, which is what I expected after the first! I'd probably give it a 7/10 for that.

iron man 3

Hmm, not sure what to think of this, I enjoyed it but some parts just seemed stupid/off i.e. the "hot/fire" quick healing people and was disappointed with who the mandarin really was but at the same time was quite funny :p :o

I would say it is probably the weakest film of the 3.

6/10

The Colony

Laurence Fishburne stars in this post apocalyptic movie about a group of people in one colony going to explore another after new information arrives. Things take an unfortunate downturn for them as you'd expect from this type of film but the visuals are excellent, lots of muted and dark colours (think Hannibal) and some nice cinematography.
The gore is quite in your face as well, the director isn't afraid to show you how things get done.

It's not brilliant but it's still an entertaining movie about survival.

Agree completely, enjoyed it quite a lot and think it did what it wanted well.

Now you see me.

Didn't keep me hooked at all. Don't get me wrong, it's a well shot movie with great scenes but there is no chemistry between the cast and the plot seemed disjointed, it's also very poorly scripted.
Did not enjoy.

5/10 Just because they have Woody, Morgan and Micheal who can work a little magic with even the worst scripts.

I found i enjoyed D9 more on the second viewing

The Hunger Games

Okay, I like Battle Royal and had put off watching this as I expected a hollywood twilightesque piece of crap.

It was, and I am left wondering why they bothered?

3/10 Bored throughout

man of tai chi, a modern day badly made rip off based on the tired cliche of underground private fighting, not a patch on bloodsport that made van damme a star. I was enjoying it mostly

until the random chinese main star killed keanu reeves with a stupid blast of wind that ruined the film, it made the movie a farce

His master did it to him so it was a legit move. Bit cheap but the other dude was probably in a higher weight class so no holds barred.

It's a bad adaptation of the book, which doesn't help.
