***ArmA 3 Thread***

Just decided after watching that video we badly need a Vulcan mod! :D

Soon...

Does TrackIR add much to the gameplay?

For me yep I can't play without it now. Means I can actually land a helicopter on the roof of a building whilst in first person safely in a decent timescale. Gives you great boost to situational awareness. I got it for DCS A-10 but really use it in Arma most of all.

MGT server has 84 people on it

trackir is probably the biggest plus for heli or jet pilots. I think you can make your own for testing as well, I just use alt as troop but its got to be a nice effect to look without thinking

This video shows off the graphics nicely, the tips are kinda basic

Altis is about 5x larger then the Arma2 map?

In September 2012, it was announced that the Iranian government would ban all copies of ARMA 3 from the country

You can use the createvehicle command within your init.sqf file, in fact it is the only way to really spawn an empty version of it which you will need to do to use within arms iii.

I'll post code when home from work, that way you don't require all in arma.

Forgot about the empty choice within the editor..

Start ARMA 3 with the AH64 mod running, then go to the editor.

Double click on the map, select empty from the top selection, then below that, you will see Nato, click on the drop down, select FAZ_, then choose the version of the AH64 you want.

If you have the dev version running, you will see loads of script errors.. Just ignore them, the handling is loads better than the default helis in A3..

It might handle better, but it handles so, so unrealistically and stupidly. (Even more so than the default ones in a3, except speed of course).

Yeah that's exactly it, it feels like it's based off a littlebird flight model and twice the lateral strength. Need to play with it more, my only issue about stuff like this is, whem you try merge non-sim with sim, you get stuck with "some things working, some things not, but goodluck finding out what that is".

But he did a good job, just a bit odd not knowing what buttons work, and some don't have feedback to see if they're on or not and in arma it's a pain to click things at times.

But I've always wanted to see something like this in arma.

Finally uploaded my new mission. All you budding pilots might enjoy it with your Track IR systems! ;)

Have a play and rate away, thanks!

Melbo.

I'll have a chat with tomorrow night about a mission I want to build/ building.

See if you, benneh and anyone else wants to combine efforts.
