I'm not doing too bad...

Prolly spent about £300 on kit n juice.

Hey guys. Been doing quite a bit of research today for my dad. Smoker for 30+ years and he wants to try out an ecig. I've been looking through some starter kits and came across this one which seems to be the most highly reviewed:

http://www.ukecigcabin.com/product/kanger-evod-starter-kit

The Kanger EVOD BCC Starter kit contains:
2 X Rechargeable Kanger Brand EVOD batteries 650mah
2 x Kanger Evod BCC clearomizers (for filling with e-liquid)
1 x Pack of 5 replacement spare coil heads for the clearomizer
1 x Usb cable for charging the batteries

Anyone tried this? Looking to spend £40 max, if anyone can recommend something better that'd be cool too.

Same kit but much cheaper.

Which one do you prefer out the two, what's the difference, both easy to recoil etc?

The magneto has a button on the very bottom which puts me off but all the bloody mech mods seem to have that. I have a feeling that'll be annoying vs the SVD....

I need to read up on drippers a bit more to understand the benefits of them.

Ithaka is looking good from there

maybe this then: http://www.fasttech.com/products/1411/10005273/1423000-private-v2-telescoping-mech-mod-e-cigarette

magneto looks far too scratchable!

this looks okay too...

I have a Dingo Mech mod from Atmizoo and thats a side botton instead of a bottom button.

Has anyone dealt with ltecigs.larsentilbrook.co.uk? I put a order in a few days ago but no money has left my bank account
and they are not returning my emails.

I've watched a couple of Ithaka clone videos and I'm kind of temped. It is called the Magoo by some resellers if you are searching for reviews / how tos. It is totally different from anything else on the market. Imo (Golden greek modder) makes some really interesting stuff, course it is super expensive so the Chinese clone it.

The Ithaka (and its clone) has air draw control and juice to wick control (can be sealed when not being used to)

I know, I've had my eyes on your mod for a while debating whether or not to nab one. How have you been getting on with it or what have you had previously and has did this compare to them?

@Crowort, The ithaka is growing on me, as well as an igo L/W and a general tank mod to have on me to replace both of my iclear 30's when the heads die (can't be bothered to buy replacements heads for them and will sell them at that point).

The issue I keep running into is am I buying more than necessary and this i starting to cost a lot more than smoking (was costing me £7.00 a week).

I have an SVD, a backup cheapy ego (in case of emergency equipment malfunction and will stay in a drawer), two iclear 30's and a protank 1.

What I'm going to end up with:
4/5 atomizers (ithaka, igo w/l, rsst/atty mabob, protank, trident (maybe) )
Two units (SVD for home/office use and a tiny mod, bagua/dingo/something for out about use/nights out)

My dingo has been nothing but good to me, I managed to remove the 510 connection ring in it by accident by not having it tightened properly so it got stuck to my Aga T2 but that was me being stupid.

The build quality is amazing its size is amazing, it looks GREAT with a MMvapours DID vapes great too.

If your looking for a side button mech mod and want something small in 18350form this is your device. I came from a Vamo to this so ive no previous mechanical mod experiance to compare with how ever its miles better then my Vamo..... I only use my vamo to measure ohms now lol.

I have a MMvapours DID a Aga T2 RBA and will be getting a Spheroid and a Zap soon to go along with them.

Ive completely stepped away from Cartos and clearos.

I was thinking of trying an IGO W or L but i cant be bothered at all to drip

Do you guys limit your vaping at all?

I swear I've been vaping more than I used to smoke so am probably getting more nicotine.

It is a pretty complex issue. Nicotine in smoke is likely to be delivered better than vapour. A lot of the things in tobacco that are bad for you might freebase the nicotine. The 1mg you see on the pack is how much is in the smoke, there is around 18mg in the tobacco in the cig. A lot of the things in tobacco that are bad for you might freebase the nicotine. We just don't know for sure. I really don't understand the science well enough but this is what I've heard from chemists.

I just aim for satisfaction not numbers.

I'm having this problem. My mod never leaves my hand once I come home from work. I must going through about 2 tank fulls every night before bed. Funny thing is I used to be a light smoker, about 3 rollies in the evening.

I noticed that my vaping is affecting my sleep, I'm as high as a kite come bed time and can't sleep. I now get stressed about not being able to sleep and need to have a vape to claim down. Having about 3 bottles of Duvel helps me sleep, so need to stock up on a few crates.

I do have to consciously limit myself in the evenings and try to avoid vaping shortly before bed. Had a few too many sleepless nights and absolutely crazy dreams due to it.

The rest of the day, I'm pretty much surgically attached to it!

I'm an avid shisha smoker, and was looking into vaping. The only thing I am worried about is the restriction and lack of deep tokes /drags. Most I have used have been very restrictive and burn too hot to be able to deep toke them.

I'm also a person where if I am to do something, I will try to do it best, no beginner products, straight in for the kill with the topeend stuff, and after getting it worry about how to make it work

Is there a general link or direction I should be looking? Should I jump straight into mechanical mods and atomiser rather than the camp and protank?

I remember all that mallarky you had and seemed a nightmare good to hear you got it all sorted now!

Mini mech mods look like the way forward now I think. Means I've got something small to take outside, It won't ever break (probably end up hating it one day and want to buy a kick for it to regulate).

I'm currently on ultrafire 350 batteries and Panasonic NCR18650PD 650's

The DID's and everything look nice but they're so expensive!

@Wazz-1 has built a very pretty device, I want one :(
And how dare you mention the poldiac it look beatutifuland it's 213 euros....Super pricey vs my £400 or less per year smoking habit which means it's a big no no. Blast.

OK guys, it's question time, I'm afraid:

I have 2x Apollo VVs and 1x Kanger Protank (I recloil them myself now) and 1x Vivi Nova. I tend to use the Protank as it's better now I've fixed all the leaking issues and taped 2 of the air holes:

I'd like to change the batteries at some point, but I'm loathe to spend 150 quid (or whatever) on a Provari. Ideally, I'd spend nothing, but I don't think the Apollo is really good enough for my requirements (I vape almost exclusively these days). Could definitely find 100 quid (preferably less) but it would need to be significantly better than what I've got now (i.e. not just more shiny with better build/longevity)

Any suggestions that are different to the Provari idea? Vamo perhaps? Anything better than a recloiled Protank 1 for me?

I feel demanding, but there's a lot of knowledge here :p

I generally vape between 2-3ml a day. If you're concerned about your nic intake, maybe drop the strength of your liquids? Then you can still chain vape, but without whizzing your **** off at the end of the day. Or have two batches, one for day, one weaker juice for evening use.

I wouldn't go straight into mech mods and stainless steel wicks just yet. They are a huge fiddle at the start, so I would suggest a good variable voltage mod like the SVD or Vamo, and then stick a protank on top. You can aalways put a new atty on top, but the VV mod will mean less fiddling with multi-meters and recoiling to get the right resistance coil.

Either a Vamo or SVD (I prefer my SVD now) would be a good budget upgrade. Better battery life than the Apollos, better fine tuning of voltage, variable wattage. And the option to go either 18350 mini mode or 18650 lightsaber mode. Only £25 from fasttech too (plus batts)
