*** iPhone 5S/5C - September 10th ***

Dont know if its been mentioned in here, but do people think the iphone 5 will drop in price when the new iphones come out??. Really need to replace my mums iphone4 as the home button is a bit flakey, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.

Settings / General / Accessibility then turn on AssistiveTouch

That dodgy home button shall bother you no more

I just feel apple have run out of ideas with the design and features. The OS has also been pretty much the same since day 1. I no longer feel any excitement for a new iPhone launch like I used to. My current iPhone 5 will probably be my last apple phone for the foreseeable future. Will wait and see what the galaxy S5 is like for my next phone.

iOS7 is unfy. Phone OS's aren't really changing a great deal year on year - I don't get any excitement out of updates now, it's more a functionality thing and how transparent it is to use. We need entirely new product lines for anything to pique people's interest in software, IMO.

A few home screens with widgets and icons, with a button to bring up the app menu with all yours apps. Sounds like the last... all versions of android.

Its so your bog standard average user that does not care about app multi tasking in the background, a removable battery and a removable memory card can use the phone when the new version comes out without having to ask bob from IT or their 15 year old kid how to work it. Its funny how this user group makes up 99% of your revenue and the technology nerds (95% of the people on OCUK) make up the last 1%.

I'm going to get mine on O2 refresh, that way if I want the new iPhone, I can get it no problems

Buying the phone outright and going on Giffgaff is still cheaper.

O2's cheapest Airtime Plans are £12 or £17, whereas you can get a similar Giffgaff plan (if not better) for £10.00

Plus with O2 Refresh to get a new phone you still have to pay off your Phone Plan. There is no plus here. By doing this I would be paying an extra £7 per month for 24 months = a loss of £168.00

I would only consider this if they sold me the phone £168.00 cheaper.

Edit: and then there is the unlock fee you would have to pay if you wanted to sell the phone on to someone on another network which would probably be another £20.00

That's my fear too, I live in hope that Cook will mention something about an improved coating process when he announces the new colour options!

I prefer the darker ones but if they're anything like the 5 they'll be prone to scuffing.

More than likely will be exactly the same.

Oh I hate this, the integration is so tempting for some reason, I just...want another iPhone. Just as an all-rounder, the N4 is a great phone but the fit and finish of the iPhone just makes me want another. I hate technology...

I can't wait for the new iPhones to be released. I'll definitely be getting either the 5S or 5C depending on what the differences are, other then the case. My iPhone 4 feels so slow now, but it's lasted well.

New features shouldn't get in the way of functionality, ever.

Apple ran out of ideas since the S series of phones. Android became more aggressive over time and Apple haven't brought anything new to the mobile market we haven't seen before.

Been very underwhelmed with my 5 :( My previous iPhone 4 was fantastic when I got it at launch. Had a galaxy nexus in between iPhones and I miss that phone.

Yep, can safely say the only items of interest will be a retina iPad mini and a new ATV.

The 5S and 5C are rubbish and the iPad 5 will still be too big.

Apple need to innovate. They just seem to be releasing the same boring stuff.

Look at Samsung's new devices.... then look at Apples.. Come on apple pull your finger out

Come on chaps, enough of the Samsung-is-better-than-Apple-nonsense. It's been done to death, it's boring and serves to achieve nothing other than derail the thread.

Look at the Samsung Galaxy Note S3, I don't see what's so innovative or new about it.

It's a big phone with faux-leather back and stylus. Running two applications at once sounds like a very poorly thought-out feature. A lot of the other features (like KNOX) are playing catch-up with Apple.

Am I missing something revolutionary?
