I want to do that but I would be so tempted to just go off and explore or just shooting people and get a chase

Well I have been playing GTA San Andreas to tide me over until the 17th.
My God how horrible are the controls in San Andreas. I have been playing for 12 hours maybe a little more but most of that has been spent doing the same few missions because I
keep dying because the gun play in the game is horrible.

Still a great game though.
I do kinda miss the days of GTA 3 and that where there wasnt a GPS and you would have to learn the best shortcuts to get too and from missions

Skyrim had it sewn up this gen as 'the' sandbox console game until..

.. you could run up mountains you weren't meant to (blank scenery reminded you of it), get stuck in fences, etc. I found oblivion a much better game, and still do.

I find GTA V wipes the floor with Skyrim, but not with Oblivion as that was released quite a bit a go now.

I've actually found that too, on the PS3 at least San Andreas just hasn't aged well. Even though GTA3 is the 'worse' game, I find that because it's so much simpler it's actually easier to get back into after years of not having played it.

On the subject of SA, I recently bought it on Steam as it was the one GTA game I was missing on PC. Can't play the PS2 copy I have as it looks absolutely horrid on my TV, and I really don't seem to get along with the PS2 controller any more. After mucking about for ages trying to get a 360 controller to work properly in-game with various utliities, I gave up and started using KB+M, feels spot on now I've been using it a while.

Still looks somewhat decent on PC, but older graphics don't seem to affect me as much as it does some people anyway. Having a blast playing through it again (especially when I never completed it first time round on PS2!!). Some of the harder missions I remember are actually a lot easier now I can quickly free-aim using a mouse and drop people with headshots. Driving isn't too bad either I must admit.

Cannot wait for GTA V! I'd laugh if they had 'Grove Street' in it but it was a nice clean area with flats owned by young professionals and arty types and a pretentious cafe on the corner or something :D

Finally gave in and ordered from amazon. If it hasn't been despatched by Friday 13th do you think Ill be able to cancel the order?

If possible I'll just get from a shop on the day.
