*** iPhone 5S/5C - September 10th ***

Getting the 16GB 5s with o2 for £36.90 and £0 upfront cost as I have o2 Friends and Family. Fairly happy with that deal as I dont really want to shell out the full amount up front / stick it on my credit card

EE's internet is so slow. Unless you can get 4G in your area all the time, avoid EE if you do a lot of web browsing when not connected via wifi.

When i'm down in London, the whole network falls down so often on EE/Orange. Unsure if it is unique to that Service Provider, but being in the capital, unable to do anything on your phone requiring communication is pretty crap service.

I just don't see the point of long contracts now, I can buy a 5S direct from Apple and keep my 1 month rolling Virgin sim which gives me pretty much the same benefits as those EE ones, and still come out with more money in my pocket over 12 months.

I'm not tied in, the phone is unlocked from the off and I can do as I please.

Anyway, pink 5C and white case ordered this morning for the GF. I'm not sure I agree on the 5C pricing, but it will keep her happy while I get GTAV/Xbox One/PS4 :p

Any problems with tethering on that at all? Considering doing the same.

I'm in that group too. I have a sim only deal with Vodafone, unlimited internet, minutes and texts for £26.50 a month.

I upgrade each time and just buy the iPhone out right, usually sell them on just after the new on is released for a very good price, which softens the blow of buying the new iPhone.

Looking forward to 5S prices, and the annoyed fallout they create. New phone + 4G rollout to pay for... scalping ahoy.

Three network won't have an increase for their 4G services. So sign up to the £12.90 sim only plan and you should be okay when they roll out their 4G network.

I would like the 5s, but i dont know if i should sell me 5 to go towards the 5s.

I have a white IP5 now but want a black one.

I can upgrade in december, but instead of being tied down to another 24month contract, i want to go sim free and have a 30-day rolling contract.

Indeed, that's what sets them apart from the others. However aren't they supposed to be the last of the big networks to get their 4G coverage up and running?

Three are looking very attractive at the moment, but the staff discount I get puts the SIM only plan I'm on in a difficult to touch place. If I were to leave my current employer and lose said discount, then I'd definitely be taking my PAC code (and my own handset) to Three.

I'm thinking white too now...

Another vid:

I had a white 3GS, black 4S and black 5... might go for something different this time. I just like the 'monolith' appearance when the screen is off with the black ones.

How does the 5C compare with the original iPhone 5? I know it's made out of plastic, and doesn't have the 5S snazzy fingerprint sensor... but is it any worse than the iPhone 5?

Currently have the iPhone 5 (on EE 4G), but will be switching to a network who the iPhone 5 doesn't have the correct 4G frequencies for... whereas the iPhone 5C adds in some extra 4G frequencies compared with the 5 (and is cheaper than the 5S!)

The gold is rather nice, but I would never buy it, too flashy. Although I bet you it'll end up on lots of gangster rap music video though!

You could buy a black iphone 5 back and put it on your 5s if you want the darker colour.

And the frame too surely

Knowing there are internal differences the parts might not even line up correctly.

A shame as I also prefer the black/slate look of the 5.

Different chassis I think dude, mounts are in different places on the inside.

I still like the space grey, it'll probably go in a case anyway. I always have the intention of running my phone nekked, then I bottle it on the first trip out of the door lol.

Does anyone know a good reason why a lot of the networks have split their 5C/5S pricing announcements? Is it just down to the fact they're released by Apple at different times?

Ah was not aware of that :( Looking at photo's, if it is as light as they show, don't think i'll be getting the black one now :(

I personally prefer the new grey to the black, the old black was too...slate-ish :D But still undecided on whether to get a case...I usually find they do more harm than good, but of course in the event you drop the thing...
