GTA V

Look back to previous GTA's. Hell, look at side-by-side comparisons.

This is not a game in which we care about graphics. The core gameplay is classic, kept our attention for hours, provided SO MUCH FUN.

I'm aware I'm buying this on seven-year-old hardware. I'm not expecting graphics.

Installed both disks yep. It's far from impressive. I'm looking past the graphics for now, just to see if the game is decent. But it's hard as it really does make it difficult to 'feel' the environment. The graphics are just too bad haha. Now and again you get a nice 'shot' of the environment, distance and the scale, but generally, it's pretty naff.

Your 360 or Tv must be knackered as it looks fine on 360 to me

Agnes is just trying too hard.

FPS is not woeful in the best of places, the app he goes on about is actually there to enhance the experience.

He's just a miserable old git by the sounds of things.

To be fair, I am miserable today haha, jet lagged.

I don't know why I expected more as come to think of it, the hardware the game is running on, as has been stated, is bloody old!

I just hope the engine isn't too fudged and badly optimised for when the PC version comes out.

Oh, and in terms of gameplay... I was up until 1am last night, jet lagged and shattered so it has dug a couple of hooks into me.

I'm just grumpy

i bought ps3 just for gta IV played it around an hour , and it had quite bad performance and crazy slowdowns , so decided to wait for pc version. even at the time i had Q6600 @ 3.6 ghz 4 gig ram and 4870 1 gig it was more enjoyable experience to play on pc then on ps3 and it looked better.

Now GTA:SA had decent vehicle handling (I should know as i'm still playing the game now ...SAMP) What I like about SA is you can go in to a slide, keep the power on and continue that slide, cars like the Windsor, SlamVan, Elegy, you can bloody drift them awesome.

IV you couldn't really do a decent drift as you just pretty much slow right down.

This is my feeling on the driving...

Turning at full speed wields far too much grip. Most cars will turn like they have slicks on. Not slide about unless you want it to by pulling on the hand brake.

Apparently, going from max speed to dead stop only takes 2 car lengths...

Hitting curbs, bumps or anything bigger than a pound coin makes the car rigid and uncontrollable. The physics is just off.

I prefer the sluggish feel of GTA IV. Nothing more fun than going flat out and losing control trying to save it. But in GTA V. You brake and within a second you are at a stop and starting to reverse. It's too 'safe'.

I really liked the driving in IV once you got used to it. Drifting was possible just it wasn't go flat out and turn like in SA :p

This confirms it's basically exactly the same as Midnight Club 3 then, shame :(

Oh. :( I also really liked the "skill" required to drive at high speed in IV especially in the muscle cars and SUVs. Driving was actually slightly challenging what with long braking distances and no ABS in some cars... Well, balls.

Anything looked better than the ps3 version, down to the fact it ran at 640p.

Flat out and perform a majestic slide in an infernus, Satifying :D

Flat out on IV, put it sideways, hit the brakes to bring the front end backround, lose the slide, lose the speed.

Only time I feel to get some type of decent sliding is when you get the rear tyres smoking, no traction what so ever and you do actually get some good drifting out of it. (muscle cars are the best for it)
