********* The Official GTA V (5) thread! *********

Yesterday I was driving north from Vinewood looking for a nice car to steal when I encountered a police chase, I helped the cops by ramming the guy off the road, he ended up in a river still in the car and got swept away :D Whilst I was sat in the car watching this some hag came and car-jacked me :p

I love this game.

This just has to be my favourite game of this generation for sure, maybe even more so like my favourite game ever. Its like GTA 4 with everything it missed rolled into one. The missions are awesome, the variety is great and for this gen of consoles, the graphics are pretty fantastic too.

Rockstar really do know how to make games. I know they probably had a big budget but other developers really need to take a leaf out of R*'s book and design their games better. R* proved that it can be done even by squeezing the last bit of life out the current gen consoles.

So glad I bought it and in a way, it has reignited my enjoyment playing on a console. I had pushed it to one side in recent years to game on the PC but GTA5 has got my console spark back. I wonder if my misses will let me buy a XBOne or PS4....hmmm ;)

Apparently they released on iOS first as sort of a beta test to iron out the bugs, but personally I think that is complete and utter bull. It's a pretty well known fact that Android is a far easier platform to work with, has almost 80% market share and is built completely different than iOS applications rendering any beta test done on Apple devices completely useless for the Android version.

I think what is more likely is that iOS had a deal with Rockstar to get it released on iPhones first and then on Android somewhere down the road but they kept hush hush about it.

isn't iOS easier to programme for simply because there's only a handful of devices?

a bit like how consoles aren't upgradeable and all have the same spec so developers can optimise a lot better than say PC games due to differences in user's hardware.

whereas there has be over ten thousand different android devices now surely all with completely different specs.

Not sure if this is spoiler but my favourite Trevor transition so far is changing to him:

Throwing someone off a bridge! :D

Someone mentioned it before but the Yoga mission was very cool. :)

I think Michael and Trevor are my fave characters, Franklin hasn't been that great thus far, although perhaps he'l get better. Loving the first main missions where you use all three, loving the game. :D

Edit* Whilst I'm here has R* mentioned anything about DLC yet? Or have I just missed any info?! :P

yoga mission and cool?

if it's the one with his wife and the yoga guy in the back garden, then no that wasn't cool at all, in fact it's probably the worst mission i have played so far.

It's my favourite. Shows how much more balanced the game is imo... I had just done a really long mission, which was just one long shootout, it was nice to have a relaxing funny mission with great dialogue to wind down. Much better than previous gta games, where the formula was next mission= more people to kill.

Where do you get scuba gear? I've done the mission where you are in scuba gear with michael, but where can I buy some?

i don't think you can buy it, but there's a boat at the very bottom of the map which if you get into and then jump into the sea, your automatically wearing it when you jump in.

there's an unlimited money glitch which requires said scuba gear so google that if you want to find out where said boat is exactly.

No need to own the weed shop. If you are in the right place there should be a weed icon on the map. It suggests coming back about once a week.

As for the sunken plane, it can apparently be an unlimited money 'cheat'. Collect it, switch characters then switch back straight away, collect again, etc.

I'm not going to do that though, at least not until finished and desperate. Ruins the point.

the unlimited money glitch gets very boring very fast, also the character constantly moves out of position so you need to move him back to it and it is quite hard and annoying because you need to be really close to pick the cash up.

So I finally met Trevor (wow.... what an introduction). His missions are freaking fun, but not sure how I feel about him as a character to be honest. I picked up a couple on the "stranger missions" and took them to the cult dudes, without realising what they were all about (I feel bad!)...

Oh and the homie Francis, with Lester's help made some serious dough on the stock market :) Word is bond

apparently the best thing to do is complete all the missions then go back and do the lester assassinations ones.

that way you make the most money possible.

i have done 2 of them already though, so i'm gonna try and avoid the rest from now on in, so i hopefully have a chance of getting the golf course.

yeah i hate repetitive games where every mission feels the same, but i play GTA because well it's complete madness, doing yoga on the other hand is boring.

Is the best time to invest on the Stock Market when there on the UP :)?

I didn't know missions can change the Stock market :(
Also heard you can Put your money on one company and blow the other companys up

Where are they located?

there's plenty of guides, walkthroughs and youtube videos out there explaining what to do, in fact one has been posted in this thread recently in a spoiler thing.

Can get it from Tesco direct for £33 with a e-coupon. £38 in-store though.

Will have to see if i can get them to do it for £33 in-store? Much chance you think?

yesterday there was a deal showing how to get it for £21 :o

why people didn't have this game on pre-order at least 3 day's in advance though is a mystery, i'm amazed at how so many people still don't buy online or pre-order stuff.

get it from them for £32 if you buy £17 worth of PSN credit.

Great game...though i am a little annoyed at the way things are inaccessible until they are unlocked... where are the clothes shops? Not that far in (spend a lot of time messing about) but couldnt change Michaels clothes for a while (because each time i went to his house it automatically started his mission)

Other minor gripe is that i decked Franklin out in different clothes from his wardrobe but when you get the first scene when him and M meet...hes wearing different clothes entirely.

Does this mean that even if i buy and deck my dudes out in 1000$ suits and stetsons as soon as i switch to another character they will be back in their jeans and PJs ?

Anyway minor gripes aside still wondering about making money ...technically i have 100k worth of shares for franklin ...so i could sell but then can i give some of that money to Michael?

Also struggling to find an ATM (so i can rob folk) and actual shops i can hold up.

Ohh yeah has there been comparisons as to the size of this compared to all previous open world games? (ala Skyrim, oblivion, Fallout3, GTA3 etc etc) I know its a lot bigger.

yeah the clothes thing is random, like trevor seems to change his outfits randomly all the time, but again it's realistic, in real life you wouldn't wear the same clothes day's on end for weeks.

you cannot give another character money from another character i don't think, again this would make the game too easy and unrealistic.

someone said you can raid the weed farm once every few weeks for an easy 100K or so, that could be the best thing to do when starting out, it's at the top of the map though, so is gonna be like a 15 minute drive to get there, maybe longer.

Question regarding one of the earliest missions to affect the stock market:

The Lifeinvader stock, does it ever go back up? Its currently sitting at $5ish and getting very near the end of the game, I think I bought it at about $8 for all three characters after the "event" but so far everyone is making a loss as it continued to drop. All other stocks ive invested in were much quicker to rise or drop.

i watched a video on youtube and it never recovers apparently.

stock's ain't worth investing in unless it's assassination time, or the graph shows they tend to go up and down like a yo yo all the time, then buy at the bottom and sell when high.

but using the second method takes huge piles of cash and selling for small changes in order to make cash.
