********* The Official GTA V (5) thread! *********

I've played it for a couple hours tonight, and so far I'm just not feeling it :/

It seems that GTA is increasingly losing its way.

It started out as a fun driving game, with wacky humour, a variety of weapons, and manic madcap gameplay.

It has, since (after) San Andreas, tried to become a grown up, serious game. It's almost totally lost sight of the fun. GTA4 was humourless and dull. Only TBoGT made me smile.

GTA5 seems totally sterile from the brief time I've had with it. I hope it gets better.

Also, WTF were they thinking, putting mandatory stealth sections in a GTA game? Has GTA *ever* been about stealth? This is a prime example of why I say it's losing its way.

Or maybe you guys see it as trying to evolve. I don't know. I preferred manic driving around blowing stuff up.

Also the characters in this are turds, apart from the black guy. I don't want to play them, I want them to be my nemesis so I can pop a cap in their asses. Utterly un-likeable main characters :/

There is a fantastic little place where you can lose cops, even on 5 star!

You just drive up the houses drive, turn into a garage and park round a corner in the garage, they lose sight of you and don't enter the garage!

Sometimes there are 2 cars on the drive but you can drive through the middle of them and turn into the garage.

Have to admit..I never really liked the previous GTAs, or could really get in to them but this game is something else. Everything is so blooming good! 17 hours in...28% done, 1 heist. Not bored. Incredible really. Gonna see how the story plays out but this is rising fast in my all time great games.

You will not be disappointed, enjoy it mate. ;)

The only thing that makes this game utter rubbish is how long it takes to lose the cops.

Makes it better imo, they are easy to loose when you want to and can also give you a run for your money if you want the chase to last. :p

Abit annoyed spent about 50k on modding a car for races, parked it in Franklins garage and went to get it, not there anymore.

Franklins garage is the only one that gave me trouble, something to do with missions. R* made a post on it.

You should trade the game in if you aren't enjoying it, then you don't need to post rubbish here :p

It's not lost, there was about 2 mandatory stealth parts that were very easy and made it enjoyable, rather than failing 100 times.

You can drive more cars, and blow up more things so by your definition it's better than any previous things you seem to of enjoyed in a GTA game?...

The characters are well written, you obviously don't enjoy story in a game and that is fine.

I think you're over reacting over a few silly things, that aren't really problems at all to everyone else.

There's maybe 2 small stealth sections, that doesn't really tip the whole game on it's head so it's no longer GTA?

I don't see why this isn't GTA, when it has easily the best driving of all of them for the fun factor really, and there is plenty of blowing stuff up too?

Sorry I didn't realise I wasn't allowed to express a negative opinion about the game. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

You're allowed to be negative, but what you said was all lies basically.

You've said the game is all stealth There is probably less than 2 minutes of actual stealth game play that is mandatory.

It's nice to know that a few hours of a 40 hour story has told you everything you need to know :)

If you don't like it then you don't like it I'm sure there is millions of others who don't, but you're describing a totally different game lol.

It's far from perfect, I could list many things that I would want changed or tweaked, but it didn't take away from my experience.

The best driving? Debatable!

So far, all the cars and bikes stick to the road like glue no matter how fast I'm going and how hard I'm turning. They also brake from top speed to fully stopped in a second or less.

I guess if you like arcade driving it's the best.

Some other niggles: failing a mission is not punished anymore. You just rewind 30 seconds and try again... feels so cheap and targetted at casual gamers.

I don't seem to be able to get cars to explode if they take too much damage. I've been driving around doing head on collisions at top speed, and nothing seems to happen, apart from the bumper and bonnet falling off. Do they even catch fire anymore? I can see they don't catch fire when flipped over now.

also Franklin is surely the worst character out of them all yet he liked him the most.

he say's the game isn't fun or funny, yet trevor is hilarious.

Troll I think, or just trying to bait.

I agree, I liked Franklin don't get me wrong but he felt too familiar and instantly associated with CJ. Maybe that is my fault for playing SA to much :p

I think Trevor was balls to wall all the time, but Michale was my favorite (story wise)

I did? I said there were mandatory stealth sections. There are. How is this lies?

Also, does opinion count as lies if it differs from yours?

Actually all the previous GTA's excluding 4 are way more arcade like in driving, and 4 was rubbish boats belong on water not on the road. (with mods 4 was good)

Cars take a while to stop at speed and on gravel, less time with customization (brakes)

Failing takes away ammo, that is penalty. But it makes the game more fluid and enjoyable for most people, of course some prefer the old way.

Now I know you are lying, because at max speed a collision sends you flying out the window screen.

:)

So 2 minutes of pretty hard to fail stealth sections (that you probably haven't even got to in the 'few' hours you played) have ruined the whole GTA franchise.

and you are lying, see above.. :)

Your lies = your opinions that's cool, you think it's a terrible game, I already suggested you go play something else.

Feed and bait...feed and bait :p

you say it used to be a fun driving game, then go onto say how it's casual arcadey style isn't realistic enough for you.

what exactly are you looking for, you said it has lost it's humour, yet some of the things that happen and the characters are hilarious.

the driving is supposed to be arcadey, it's not gran turismo.

no other sandbox game apart from red dead redemption comes even close to this imo.
