Burnt wick/crud on the coil? If you're using cotton and dry burned at all, that will **** it up. Mustn't dry burn cotton ever. If you have a syringe and wide bore needle, try and draw the juice out of the fill hole so you don't waste it.
If you've vaped a fair amount and not thoroughly cleaned the Atty in between flavour changes or primed the wick with juice before rebuilding, these can all cause crap flavour.
I'd make sure the wick is wet, then slowly draw (without power) to prime it further, then start vaping at low volts to start (don't directly inhale into your lungs) - fill your mouth with vapour, you'll know if it still tastes bad without the Kick to the back of the throat. If no burnt taste, gradually up the power until you find the sweet spot .
If still no luck, time to break it all down for a thorough clean (use vodka/isopropyl alcohol or Milton Sterilising Tablets) and boiling water to flush everything. Air dry overnight. Chuck the existing wick and coils and start again.
Repeat the rebuilding, making sure you prime the dry wick with the ejuice you want in there, then test fire before filling - slowly up the power, all the time keeping the wick wet (like a dripper) and only when you're happy, fill the tank.
As great as the KFL is, when it farts about, it is a bugger for trouble shooting!
Patience is key buddy!
Cheers Red for the info, i did have a look at the coil and it didnt seem like any sort of crud on it, i only recoiled and wicked a few mins before i put some juice on it. I did fire it up to see if everything was working and it gave off a burning smell but i didnt think anything of it as i thought it needs to have some juice on there.
Anyhow as it was getting late, i ended up draining the juice back into the bottle and gave everything a good wash before heading to bed. Ive left the coil and wick to dry overnight so will try again this evening.
You can just unscrew the top cap and pour the juice back into a bottle. You'll lose a bit of juice in the process but not much.
Yep thats what i done in the end, didnt lose any juice other than a few drops etc.
try increasing the voltage 4.2-4.5. and when unscrewing the top cap the juice shouldn't spill out, sounds like you overfilled. When I fill I turn it upside down and fill until I just start to see a bubble forming, the juice should form a U shape in the polycarb tank and that's when I stop; put in the screw and turn it upside down so that the air rises to the top.
raising the coil higher above the air hole helps with taste and throat hit, but what wick did you use? Maybe the coils are wrapped on too tight around the wick.
Cheers Majnu, i did turn the voltage down to 3 volts then worked up from there, at around 3.5volts i was still getting the burnt taste so i ended up draining the juice from the tank and took it all apart.
I think i did wrap the coils pretty tight on the wick, so will try wrapping it not so tight later tonight. The wick and oil were raised pretty high from the hole but still getting that awful burnt taste at 3.5volts and above and tbh anything lower than 3.5v just isnt worth it...hardly any vapour or throat hit.
As for filling the tank??, i usually look out for that air bubble then stop filling.
Anyhow moar testing needed!!!

but as fustrating as this KFL can be, im loving it, my coiling and wicking is getting better and better everytime i give it a go.
On a separate note, if anyone is after GVC and knowing how hard it is to get hold of it. Kings custard from vaping king is pretty much spot on with GVC, i got a 10ml bottle of it and let it steep for a few days. Filled up my protanks this morning and whacked it on my provari and wow, it really does taste like GVC.
Methinks ill be ordering a 30ml bottle next.
