Yes, never in the house or on weekdays though.

However when I do go out I usually consume so much I wake up with no recollection of what happened after midnight, feel like **** for a few days and regret the money I spent (wasted).

I have a bottle of beer with my tea (tr. dinner) about twice a week. Real beer, currently in the fridge I have three bottles: Riggwelter (my fav.), Old Perculiar and HSB.

I will often have a pint or 2 if I'm having a pub meal with friends, usually a local beer or Guinness if there's nothing but brands on draught.

On a night out (rare these days :-/) I'll drink quite a lot, but never to the point where I can't remember anything or walk home etc..

doesnt interest me really

i do like the odd cider in the summer, so rarely is my choice
i assumed rarely meant less than once a week and almost never to excess

I don't tend to drink much, perhaps a few beers or sharing a bottle of wine with the wife at the weekend, but nothing during the week. As I've got older I tend to drink for the enjoyment of a tasty real ale or a good red wine, rather than to get drunk. Plus I've definitely found hangovers to be worse and take much longer to recover from than when I was younger!

Unless it's a special occasion, I don't feel the urge.

Even then I won't go mad. Those days are gone :o

These results are surprising given the UK's supposed binge-drinking culture although I guess that is tempered by the focus of this forum and the type of person it attracts.

I voted 'yes'. I will sometimes drink to excess - and I won't apologise nor condone that approach - but I'd happily be without alcohol. Hah, reading that back makes it sound like a confession :not cool:

I spent the last couple of years drinking way too much (5 pints a night) - mostly through boredom.

This year I've cut back and it's Friday/Saturday only. Funnily enough I've also lost 2 stone this year ;)

I don't link drinking (in moderation) with being unhealthy :p

What I'm saying is - the majority of people I know that don't drink (but did take a few drinks in their teens/20's) - or who have never drank any alcohol - seem to have either mental instabilities, physical problems or are just hypochondriacs now in the 40 - 45 age range. And I know a lot of people that don't drink for some reason.....

It's possibly because they have diets / passtimes that are a lot worse (ie they smoke, do illegal stuff, drink loads of soft drinks, sit on their backsides all day etc etc.):p - but the bottom line is they don't drink (and do nothing else but drink like me ) - and appear worse off for it.

If you don't link the two then your post is pointless.

I don't drink much these days, I used to binge most weekends but just don't like it anymore. I don't know if it's just because I'm older but I find the next day too hard and I value my weekends too much to waste morning hours feeling ill just so I can feel a bit messed up for an evening.

Having said that, I love a decent bitter.:)

I drink far to much, but being 48 and a fitness freak now i have given up everything else over the last 10 years ( tobacco and most drugs you can think of)

Give me a mountain bike,2 days to get there! and i will drink that bottle of jack:D

I haven't had a drink for 234 days.

I am far too fond of drink and totally unable to regulate my intake.

Finally got fed up with it both dominating and threatening to ruin my life and stopped.

Good shout mate. Keep it up.

E: silkworth.net has me at 2536 days! Christ time flies! I remember the first 6 months very well though.
