such lovely weather this afternoon! almost felt like summer has returned!
felt like a shame not to go out so went for a nice leisurely 30miles, saw loads of other people who must have thought the same.

Tell me about it!

I was sweating like a b*****d in full bib tights and Gabba top. Might go for shorts tomorrow.

I had the foresight this morning of packing a thin base layer for my ride home as opposed to the long sleeve thermal I wore on the way in to work at 5am this morning. It was just right although I could have probably got away without the leg warmers as well.

There's a guy at the station commuting on a Planet X track bike with bull bars, a tri-spoke front wheel, deep rim rear wheel and no brakes. Wut.

Looks like tubular tyres as well.

So after a week of using the Castelli Sorpassos, I can safely say I've found the best pad I've ever cycled on. The bib tights them self are a great fit, comfortable, good seams etc, but the pad is what sets these apart. Wow.

Just got my kurt kinetic rock and roll. Slightly annoyed as the box was a mess and it looks like it may have been used as there are slight scratches to the metal uprights. Would any of you guys complain if you had the same? Makes no odds to me from a use perspective but slightly annoying nonetheless.

Also got some crud roadracers, looks like they aren't going to fit with my 25mm tyres either. Look decent for what they are though.

I got on the bike today for the first time in weeks (since 22nd September!)

Thankfully I've not lost too much fitness due to all the other exercise I've been doing.

I shaved 4s off my time of my favourite Strava segment, taking me from joint 6th to joint 4th :)

Segment details:

0.8mi
Distance
-1.2%
Avg Grade
242ft
Lowest Elev
294ft
Highest Elev
52ft
Elev Difference
Ridden 1964 times by 587 people
My time:
1.32 (32.2 avg)
KOM:
1.26 (34.5 avg)

I reckon I could do better too, because I wasn't up to speed when the segment started, and I may have eased off a little early.

Finally sorted hotels in Tenerife - 4 nights in La Oratava followed by 3 in the infamous Parador hotel up at 2300m. Will be renting a van as well to give us a starting base. Should mean we are able to do Teide from both the north and the south plus plenty of other climbs. It might hurt a bit.

Just got back off a 35.5 mile ride :D I'm getting there!

Avg 14mph. I guess it's a little slow. I'm hoping that's mainly because my bike isn't all that well suited to road riding.

The aim is 70 miles a day in two stints so still some work to be done.

Cool story!

Foggy here this morning. Not too thick but the pain was the water build up on the glasses. I've even treated them with that hydrophobic coating that Oakley sell - still tough to see after a couple of minutes.

Properly pitch black too at just after 6...be dark for my commute both ways after clocks go back :(

Anyone else of the opinion that the Endomondo website is utter garbage?

EVERY time I uploud stuff from my Garmin, it logs it as a run, despite me saying it was a cycle event. So I have to manually change every ride.

Also, my stats aren't updating on the challenges either. The table was updates 30 minutes ago, and it still says the same distance as last night, despite me uploading since.

And my distance is about 500 miles short of my actual distance covered this year too.
