Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Was doing perfectly fine until I had the BSOD - not sure if that is related to BF or just my overclocking.
Reload PC - attempt to conntect - "cannot connect to server" - WHY?! What more do you need?!
Now it just won't join anything.

R6 fixes one specific crash and nothing else, more stability coming in R7. Thankfully DICE are adopting the little and often approach.

What error code you get?

When I start a game it always start in windows mode.. Is there a fix for this? kinda annoying.

Also, sometimes internet explorer or google chrome crashes when playing. Weird.

I got out of commercial software development due to it - I take a lot of pride in my coding and won't release something I know has flaws in it. Bit of a snob but I have a lot of distain for career programmers - IMO anyone who is detached emotionally from their code has no place being in an IDE :P

Work in a bigger environment and you won't have a choice since the release part is done by somebody else. And how do you know your code crashes until the testers report it back to you with the steps to reproduce the crash. Not enough testing done and you never hear about it.

The DICE Devs will be working round the clock to fix it.its just a shame that this testing and bug fixing wasn't done more thoroughly before launch. But again external pressures and release dates from EA...

Yeah I hated it. Obviously no one can account for every possible scenario, variation, etc. but way too many people these days do it as a job and bang out "it'll do" code and come back and fix problems as and when reported :(

had a good few 64man conquest games there without a single hitch, playin parcel storm and the radio beacon map (rogue transmission) , really enjoy that capture point below the dish thats a great little area down there.

I normally play on the [CeltS] server never fail to have a decent game there

bah been rock solid up until just now - now most servers just disconnect me without any error and when I do get into a game it just crashes on the loading screen right at the moment it should be finished loading.

Pc dev mentality for far too long, "Ship it now, finish it later".

I haven't crashed in 3 games so it looks like the R6 server patch has 'fixed' it for some and wrecked it for others.

Just played as engineer on Zavod 311 and had a great time. I never thought I'd say that a couple of days ago. :D It's probably best playing as engineer on Zavod as there are loads of tanks and close up gun battles. I'm still getting used to that MX4. Seems best to use it in small bursts at close range.

I still have the issue with dying as soon as I spawn on occasions.

I had some great games this afternoon, only one crash and it was a sound loop not the usual directx garbage. I'm gutted now, I'm stuck up in London for most of the week so will have forgotten how to play the game by the time I get back, plus ill be about 30 levels less than everyone else....:(

At least I'm not moaning about crashes! :p
