protank 2 will probably keep you going for a longer time and easy for you to rebuild and can be your backup when you one day get better gear instead of just throwing away the cheap tanks a month or two from now....

Yes I would rather get something that is decent so that I can use it for a long time instead of need to upgrade it in 2 months because that will work out more expensive. Can you recommend me the best stuff? What about that shopping cart image I posted? Should I just get that then? I did not realise that buying an ecig would be so complicated!

Then protank 2 for the price personally. Try Fasttech if you dont mind waiting 2-3 weeks and you'll get most things at a bargain.

So that's your starter rebuildable atomiser (might want to buy some replacements heads) it'll taste nasty within a week or two as bits get burnt. Luckily you can fully clean and rewick this one EASILY for like 5 quid and the stuff will make thousands of heads but buy some prebuilt ones to start.

Then you need a device to use as a battery or PVD (personal vaping device). Most people start on egos to test the waters to see if they can go electronic and then go on to buy better gear which is what I did. the ego batteries are always **** and always break within a week - a couple of months. Mine broke in 3 weeks and it wasn't a cheapy chinese one either.

a lot of people get an SVD/Vamo, I got the SVD and then and buy some batteries and a charger for it.

E liquid is personal preference, I only use Scope's Juice nowadays.

This hobby is looking more expensive than I thought... I was hoping I could just buy a kit and then that would be ok to use for years with just replacement atomizers and maybe a battery every few months.

you could always try and find a local brick and mortor e-cig outlet. They are cropping up all over the place now, so you can find out which juices suit your palette. It's really not expensive, all extra consumables are just for maintenance which will save you hassle of having to buy again and pay postage for something you will eventually need.

As juices are burnt they will oxidise the coil and will taint the flavour over time. Juices like Liquorice or custard are faster in doing this, but there is no reason why a single head won't last months if looked after.

What City in the UK are you in, we'll find the nearest shop for you.

Hey majnu, your right the o-rings arrived and they wont fit the KFL screw...dont know what drugs the guy was on at UKV lol when he said they fit the screw perfectly fine.

Might try and squeeze it on with a pair of tweezers but i cant see them going on.

Thanks.. I live in Bristol. I will have a look for shops around here... I have seen a totallywicked shop before but I thought most of this stuff was online only.

going to soak mine in hot water for a bit and try later on but I doubt it will make a difference. I was the one who tried a 2mm o-ring and told UKV that it does stop leaking but the ring had a habbit of popping out, so maybe that's why someone suggested 1mm which was never going to fit anyway just polishing the kfl atm and will see if boiling works. ;)

edit - doesn't work.

The fill screw on my KFL has never leaked once (yet), so i guess i must be one of the lucky ones.
How about making your own seal for the screw?
Havent tried it myself, but how would it go if you got a piece of rubber from a washing up glove, pierce a hole through it, put fill screw through the hole and then trim excess rubber with a scissors or nail clippers?

But O rings stretch massively....you must be able to get them on. I would measure the diamter of the screw with my callipers but im too lazy to take apart the KFL right now as I'm currently setting up my brand new NAS that I ordered off here yesterday xD

Bloody hell my Vamo V2 has turned up from China! Only taken over a month.

Any tips re using one for a noob as it does not come with instructions? I've got the Nitecore charger and a Sony 18650 battery and i'll be using it with my Protank.

Battery not quite fully charged but I want to try it, does it need conditioning?

Hi mate, i got a similar setup.
Its just plug and play mate.
Insert battery + side up

ow to use:

1. Click the big button 5 times to turn the unit on (or off).

2. Pressing the - button for 3 seconds displays battery voltage. Pressing the + button for 3 seconds displays the working resistance.

3. Single pressing of the +/- will increase or reduce with 0.1V or 0.5W increments depending on power mode.

4. To switch power mode from volts to watts. press and hold "+"and"-" at the same time for 3 seconds.

5. Press the big button to operate the unit.

6.To turn off, click the big button 5 times.

7. Battery monitoring shuts the unit off once battery has reached end of charge.

8. LCD displays LO-Ω if resistance lower than 1.2ohm, LO-V if short circuit.

9. To switch between V(avg) [No1] mode to V(rms) [No2] mode by holding the + button down for at least 10 seconds.

I use rms mode.
fully charged battery will be 4.2v and it will shut off arounf 3.2 to 3.3v

Cheers. The left button displays the battery wattage? If I hold it it says then 4.3v.

If I hold the right button it says 2.3 ohms. I assume that it the atomiser?

What do I gain from cranking it up and down, just more vape?

It tastes all a bit burnt at the moment.

Battery voltage sounds ok imo

Correct 2.3oHms is the atomiser
I find different juices/tanks can taste better at different wattages/voltages.
I use the VW mode,
I found on my old Protank, anything above 8w i got a burnt taste, but with my KFL i can easily go to 11w lol.
A lot is to do with the Ohms afaik, the higher the Ohms the more the power is needed, but i may be wrong.
I did read a thread somewhere that explained everything, but a more expierenced vaper on here should be able to explain it.

edit. here is a video explaining the difference between VV and VW and resitance and Ohms law.

wahay we're getting there. Well done you.

2.30hms is the restistance of the current coil on your tank. I don't have a vamo but if it's 4.3v (knowing full capacity of a battery is 4.2v) it sounds like that's your voltage you're putting through it, lower it down a lot, you're probably way too high hence the burnt taste. Also note .1 increments can make a huge difference in flavour. Start at 3.7 volts and go from there bit by bit to see what voltage works best for that head and juice.

tried it, snapped 3 and gave up.

A little advice guys? Have been happily vaping dekang triple menthol for a fair few months and the guy ran out for quite some time. I've since had three bottles of HS menthol sensation and now gone back to dekang but the stuff he's sent me tastes like minty parsnip!

Has it not been left to steep long enough do you think? Produced date is 16/10/2013

Thanks
