Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9 - 10th November 2013]

You know exactly what im on about, dont pretend you dont.

Wow one £40mill player does not equal a squad made of £30mill worth of talent, thats the difference i was making. Lets admit it that you lot have a much stronger bench than what we have at the moment, anyone with half a brain cell can see that even City have a stronger bench than us as well.

I still don't have a clue what you're on about I'm afraid, genuinely

The only positive I can take from the match is that for once we didn't get spanked and were in the game for the whole time. Having no wide men hurt us today. It was only till gnabry came on that we started stretching their defence. **** it.

Yep i thought perhaps Gnabry should have started today but when he did come on, we looked instantly better...just our final ball was rubbish and with Giroud not making much of an impact...it was hard for us today.

Saying that Bender, Ozil and Giroud did have some good chances to get a goal but wasnt meant to be today.

I did notice that dm didn't post anything after the Dortmund match. Lol. Ignore him. He's a troll. A troll which drools a load of ****

:D

Yas set Arsenal up for the fall when he said they'd hammer Man U :(

I might have done so:(, but meh got carried away with the Dortmund win and honestly thought we would have beaten Utd today but at least we didnt get hammered 8-2 like a couple of seasons ago lol.

Yas covers every likely outcome in his posts though.

"I think Arsenal will win but I wouldn't be surprised if we lost, if it turns out to be a draw I can understand why......................"

I can't see any of the title challengers losing at home to their competitors.

Oh look, the bipolar Arsenal fans are out in force again.

:D

So good games today, I thought Newcastle defended superbly. Never saw that result coming.

Has Pellegrini improved things for City? Would City fans still rather have Mancini?

As for Ozil going missing in big games, this board said that about Ronaldo too. Hardly made either of them a waste of money. Not that long ago fans of opposing teams kept crying about not signing him.

I like Wenger and would love him to win a title again but the result at least makes a more exciting table for a neutral. :)

Not only that but I think he C&P's his summaries of a game from BBC's live text.

I think it's the players they have that's the issue, obviously their skill can't be questioned but their attitude is so poor. Yaya is a class act playing wise but his body language suggests he couldn't really care less at times.

I'm not sure how any manager will change them really.

Without it sounding like an excuse, I think we could have given it a much better go today if we weren't bug-ridden going into the game. Mertesacker and Rosicky were too sick to play, Arterta and Flamini were 50/50 before the game and most of the rest of squad were well enough to play but had gotten the lurgies too. Can't do anything about it now but if anything it highlighted the lack of options squad wise (although yes we still have Poldi/Ox/Walcott due back). Hopefully the international break won't wear them down further and they'll be recovered fully for the Soton game.

Hehe i always cover for every eventuality just to be on the safe side;). Thats why i said at the start of the game, i was nervous about today as it was at OT where we never have a good record against u lot.

Neither do i but its the away form that a lot of teams will be banking on for the title. But still far too early to say who will win the PL this year, i still think it will be between City and Chelsea with us in the mix and maybe Utd as well.

LOLJG..i make my own summaries from the games i watch ;). Feel free to email me if you have any issues with my posts.

Well thats why looking back at the game i thought Mert was a big loss to us as he and Kos work very well together. Rosicky has been immense for us lately so losing him as another option hurt us as well as i thought both Santi and Ozil were way off their best today.

We just didnt look very good out there today, we seemed well off the pace and our passing game suffered for it. Credit to Utd though, they stuck to their gameplan and it worked for them.

Would have been nice had we walked away with a draw at least.

LOLJG, carry on lad having your sly digs at me..its all good.

I'm not digging at you mate, I was honestly confused as to why you cited Chelsea having £30m worth of talent on the bench (they had far more by the way) in the CC1 game as a reason for you not expecting to win when Arsenal had Ozil on the bench who was >£40m on his own. I know you tried to explain it but I still didn't get it :)

+1

Remember City played very well in a good number of games two seasons ago but it was Utd' s stupidity that gave them the title ( with the massive point swing in the last weeks of the season) . Since then they have been given more credit than sometimes they deserve.

The title win be one or lost when the "contenders" play away against the smaller clubs in Jan / Feb.

And please (not towards you Yas) can we quit with the dm bashing, it's rubbish!
