** LOOK WHAT I'VE FOUND: SAMSUNG 971D MATTE AT BLOODY SILLY PRICE!! **

All sorted, that conf call cost me £40.... but hey ho... new monitor and GFX card tomorrow for me :)

Thanks again.

That's not fair Gibbo! :p i can find the 970D cheaper elsewhere but i don't see you reducing that price!

Drop a reply here with a link to the competitor and if they have stock I shall adjust our price.

Don't worry you won't get in trouble for posting the link as once I've matched the price I shall delete the link. :)

It arrived as promised.
Power Cable in the bottom of the box - thanks for that tip!
Used the supplied Dual DVI cable with my HD7970 - straight in at 1440.
No dead pixels. Lovely colour, had to reduce brightness a bit.
I'm really happy with this monitor!

However, the warranty info. all appears to be Eastern European and the Samsung UK Website does not recognise this model number, so won't allow me to register it (my Samsung TVs and camera are registered there to get rapid support).
The Samsung US Website does recognise it, but since I don't have a US address, I cannot register it there either.
I've Webmailed Samsung UK to ask about registration, so its now "wait and see".

Well I'm glad you found your cable, but it is not my job to mention these things. I find it amusing how you think it is though!

Its not the question of being amusing, if l was one of the first in this thread, l would have mentioned where the power lead was found and confirmed what cable's you get.

Why should l have read the 970D thread when mine's 971D, there could have been a change in spec's not just a matte finish.

This is why you join a forum, mentioning little things like that it just save's a lot of hassle for other members who buy this monitor.

Gibbo can you check this out for us please.

Thank You,
Oldphart.

I registered my 970D OK on the UK site so perhaps they forgot to add the 971D.

The official model number for the 970D had an extra /EN at the end, is the 971D the same?

Ah yes, the pricing works out more or less identical. :)

Caseking is not a competitor, so link can stay as were part of the same company. :)

Yea it's about 10 euro Gibbo but when i add a couple of SSDs the difference is about 40 euro :) But i see where you're coming from. I just wanted to get everything from here, hate splitting orders all over the place.

But with it being caseking i don't think you really mind who i purchase it from :)

Ah! Found the problem! My fault for not looking at the Model Code rather than the Model Number.
The full code is LS27B971DS/EN - I missed the initial L.
My only excuse is that the US website accepted the model number on its own - no initial L.

Sorry to worry you guys.

Am I the only one who knew about the UK power cable? no. Should OCUK themselves be pointing this out after multiple people had this problem last time? yes! If you have a problem with this take it up with them, not me.

I don't owe you anything here please stop acting like I do.

Oh, and another thing, I don't expect people to do anything. If people want to offer advice and tips that is their choice when and where to do, as long as no forum rules are broken.

If you got mad because you couldn't find your UK power cable for a while, well I'm sorry, but don't take that out on me.

Mine turned up today, reception went ape because we're not supposed to get personal items delivered to work yet I still do. Luckily they signed for it anyway and it's currently sat in the boot of my car :D

Received mine today. Extremely happy. No bleed or dead pixels. Display looks great.

Only disappointment is that the bracket fixing the monitor to the heavy stand is not great. It feels as if they went through so much making the stand durable that they forgot the bracket and the back of the monitor. Just a knock of the desk will make the monitor wobble like crazy.

Other than that, stunning.

Got mine too, found the UK power cable

I'm actually quite disappointed, none of the cables fit apart from the DVI cable which means any res above 1920x1080 just blurs. So I've effectively spent £600 on a monitor to run a lower res than my 4 y/o HP screen because i'm going to have to go buy a HDMI cable
