*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Thats probably what I'm gona do. When a service provider offer you an *upgrade* can you also get deals on sim only?

Also with google hangouts. If I sign in on a new device, will it download all my sms on to the new handset?
Not that I'm aware of, even if you could you'd still probably get a better deal just going somewhere else.
Also does anyone else not see the N5 show up when you try to install an app from the playstore through your web browser using say a PC.

I've noticed that, it doesn't show up under the find your phone bit either.

Stupid question but how do I check that the GPS is turned on?? Will need to us TomTom satnav and I thought it would be under settings.

More price cuts coming today from Google in the form of the new Moto G. Google is actively trying to bring down the cost of smartphones with good specs.

Apparently Amazon UK leaked the pricing of the Moto G at £ 160 SIM free over the weekend.

Samsung and Apple are not going to like Google very much!

If location is set to high accuracy, then GPS is enabled (I wont say on, as it's only on when something asks it to be).

Also, if you use the Power Control widget, then the 3rd icon along is GPS enable/disable.

Has anyone seen very high Android OS Keep awake battery use?

On my girlfriends phone this process is using 50% of the battery and around 5 hours keep awake time over the day which seems very odd......

I have tried to install wake lock detector but its not compatible with 4.4 OS....do you think its an app she has got that's got an issue with 4.4 or something else?

Thanks

Find the BetterBatteryStats thread on XDA the developer has posted a Beta version that works fine on 4.4

why do people want to see their battery go from 56% to 55%? Surely all you need to know is when to charge it?

Just charge it nightly:confused:

It's ridiculous, isn't it?

People end up paying too much attention to losing the odd % here and there, endlessly searching to improve their battery by flashing 1,000,000 combinations of kernels and disabling features.

I find all these kernel tweaks quite amusing; people will trust some random guy on the internet to know better than the people who actually make the hardware. I used to be like that, I just like to use my phone now.

If there's a rogue app that's spending all your battery, it's rather obvious without seeing a battery % meter.

I'm finding the battery much better after a week of use. Actually after about the first two charge cycles I started to notice a fairly big difference. I think I could get through two low usage working days per charge now. Or easily one high usage day.

Thinking of selling my ip5 and going for this.

Anyone done the same? Or with a galaxy?

Or would you say so OMG WTF STOOPID if I were to ditch apple.

:)

well I have just traded my iphone 5 for a galaxy s4 and don't regret it one little bit :) not sure why anyone would want an iphone over a top android phone now to be honest.
