*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

how do I stop my phone checking for updates so frequently? once a week would be fine.

Do you mean the play store or the ROM itself?
I don't think there's a way to stop it totally but on the the play store you can untick update automatically so at least it won't download the updates until you tell it to.

Anyone else having an issue with the microphone?

I'm getting many callers saying that they cannot hear me correctly - the volume is very low. Anyone else noticed this? If I shove my SIM back in my old Nexus 4, everything is OK.

It is getting that bad on the Nexus 5, I'm going to see if they will swap the handset for one with a functioning microphone.

Gotta say, I'm very impressed with the speed and battery-life of this phone so far - massive improvement over my galaxy nexus!

The first call I made had issues with the microphone but since then nobody has mentioned it so I assume it's ok. Maybe I was just holding it wrong? :p

Thinking of selling my ip5 and going for this.

Anyone done the same? Or with a galaxy?

Or would you say so OMG WTF STOOPID if I were to ditch apple.

:)

It's not worth it unless you crave the bigger screen and/or fancy a change to Android.

Well my Nexus 5 came yesterday and I've used the phone a little since then. My current phone is a HTC One (GPe) and I'm undecided whether I'll keep the N5 to be honest. Certainly the larger screen is an advantage but the colours are more natural looking than on the One and I'm not sure if I don't prefer the more artificial look of the One. Certainly the blacks and whites on the One are better.

I think I've been spoiled with the One really as it's such a great device. I'll miss the Boomsound if I do stick with the N5 and there's certainly no doubt that the One feels like a much more premium device (although the N5 doesn't feel cheap by any means)

I've not had chance to play with the camera much yet but it seems decent enough.
